Interesting quote from Mora

Here is a quote from Mora, not so much that the information is new, but that he would be so blunt in stating it (from PD):

On Saturday, special teams were a disaster. Allen Rossum's 152 yards on three punt returns set an NFL postseason record.

"There is no excuse for anything that we allowed him to do," Rams special
teamer Mike Furrey said. "He succeeded, and we didn't."

That's for sure. And after Atlanta's 47-17 drubbing of the Rams, Falcons coach Jim Mora made sure everyone was aware of that fact.

"We just don't pay lip service to special teams," Mora said. "I think with the
attention we pay to it, and they don't, that was a big difference. We live it,
and they don't."

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

Mora's got a bad habit of rubbing it in when he wins. Its going to bite him one day (maybe soon).

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

Apparantly Martz and Mora have a history that goes back to when Mora was with the whiners. Both guys acted a little childish and petty at the end of the game when the issue had long been decided.

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

Mora is right. They do concentrate on special teams and the Rams didn't. It bit the Rams in the backside once again.

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

Whether or not he is right, there are some things that classy Head Coaches don't say to the media. That was one of them. No matter... his season will end next week.

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

With the clock showing 3:52 remaining in the game and the Falcons up 40-17, Jim Mora Jr. told his offense to stay on the field for fourth and one from our 11-yard line. The Falcons converted, and went on to score their final touchdown.

I wouldn't have expected Mora to pull any punches in his post-game interviews after this maneuver.

I hear this word 'classy' all the time.... there is nothing wrong with rubbing things in your opositions nose... or trying to humiliate your opposition... maybe we should try it every now and then.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Or doesn't anyone remember the lop-sided scores we used to pin on the opposition (including things like on-side kicks when up by 30 - not that it bothers me, but others certainly didn't like it).

If we are so sensitive about the the score and the comments Mora made after the game, I suggest we field a better team next time and kick the **** out of them.

You nailed Yodude, I have no problem with what Mora said. If we are so sensitive to worry about other's comments then we are beat before we line up.

Best way to get back at someone is to pound them to oblivion next time you meet up and play.

Clearly you're not a supporter of sportsmanship. Perhaps you'd be a better Raiders fan, ey?

Re: Interesting quote from Mora

Whatever. The Rams have the worst special teams in the NFL and it cost them the game, and many others this season. Aside from giving up scores, the whole "you start on your 35, and we'll start on our 10" all day long is a big hole to dig out of.

Mora is right. For a organization that spends millions of dollars to try to put together a championship team, there is no excuse to be a joke at special teams.... a joke.

Martz....Martz...Martz. when are you going to learn.

again another stupid comment..

sportsmanship is something only winners can afford in contact sports.. and personally i prefer to go out knowing that the opposiing team didn;t disrespect me by fielding their B team or showing pity. - that would have irritated me !!
