Interesting tidbit on Wroten

I was just looking over his Prospect Profile from Last Years draft and I came over this:

He probably is going to be a backup as a rookie, but during his second season, he should claim a starting job and will be the uncommon defensive tackle who can stack the point of attack against the run, can chase down running backs on outside runs, and can get into the backfield to pressure the quarterback.

That guy predicted right last year, lets see if this year he makes a push for the starting job and/or starts during the regular season.

I just thought that was interesting how things have panned out so far.

Thoughts on what you guys expect from him next year?

I don't know. I'm hoping he's right. I wouldn't bank on it but I really hope he is correct.

Wroten 6'2" 295 lbs--1 year experience
Jenkins 6'4" 335 lbs (maybe more) 7 years experience.

I'm not banking on us getting Jenkins. I'm not really sold on him.

Hopefully the prediction is accurate as far as Wroten is concerned.

Well, if I was Linehan I'd hope this guy is right also because if Linehan doesn't produce a playoff appearance this year, with this offense, he's in big trouble.

I disagree, I don;t think we are going to chase him out of town. Lets not forget DV took a little time before it paid off. As much as I liked Martz he did nothing to build our D.

It's not that I don't like Linehan, it's that is the nature of professional sports. If you don't win in three years, you should be out the door. Martz took this team, with just as bad of a defense, to the playoffs four out of the five years full years he was here. Like him or not, that's impressive. If Linehan can't do the same, see ya. I hope he can. I really do. However, if he can't he's out the door as far as I'm concerned.

Not this year, I'm giving him three years. He better take this team to the playoffs within his first three years or the front office should look for someone else.

This year he will be in hot water if he doesn't make it. If he doesn't make it also in 2008, he's just another great OC but terrible HC.

I know and in the process he drafted guys like Trung. You are one of the guys saying lets get some all pro names on D. After one year, he brought in Spoon, locked up Little and Tino. Drafted Hill and will add another 1st round defensive player this year. And has kept the O very strong at the same time.

We will make the playoffs this year.

As much as I liked Martz he did nothing to build our D.

Except of course dismantling the 2000 D, one of the worst of all time (sidenote: why does everyone talk about Martz' "inherited" talent only in reference to the great O, and never that crapwad of a D that he also "inherited"), and rebuilding them within a single season.

16, I too hope you're right and this guy is some kind of Nostradamus. However, the sum total of his prognostication skills is that Wroten would be a backup his rookie year.

I think Wroten will be as good as his work ethic allows him to be, but there's still a lot of question marks circling him.

Hopefully Wroten does step up and maybe Hall is the sleeper at DE that we're not talking much about.

BAW BUB BAW BAW BAW , the rams finish 9-7 , just miss the playoff's , linehan is fired , bill cower get's hired , then quits and takes the job with the dolphins as HC- GM , the rams hire back mike martz , and go to the superbowl , and loose to the patriots , mike martz is fired again , and the rams hire TXRAMSFAN to revamp the horrid defense , 2010, and the rams finish 3-13 and get the second overall pick , and with the worst defense in the league, the ram's take, GOD ALLMIGHTY - QB- NOTRE DAME, cleveland browns are on the board .
