Isaac Bruce

Whats the latest on His contract? Ive been hearing he is in no hurry to restructure. Do the Rams even need to restructure his contact?

Re: Isaac Bruce

I too am surprised that we havent heard anything on this. His cap number is about 8 million give or take, of course we need him to restructure. I dont believe that we are going to cut him anyway, but maybe we are waiting to see what happens with Pace.

Re: Isaac Bruce

If Pace signs long term, the urgency to restructure Bruce isn't as great, but should still be an objective for this offseason. If he doesn't, well yes, we could certainly use Isaac's help. He's helped out in the past, so I'm sure he'd lend a hand here. Not sure how much of a cut he'd take though, after a pretty darn good 2004 campaign.

Re: Isaac Bruce

Nick, i think the point is he doesnt have to really take a cut, he needs to restructure to get a signing bonus and then stretch out the contract to reduce the current year hit. I think even if we sign pace, we need all the cap relief we can get. If he restructures, it increases the odds that like faulk, he ends his career as a ram, which is what i think we all hope to see.

Does this mean...

That after we sign Pace long term, and stretch out Faulk's and Bruce's contracts so that they are paid decent $$$ even after they are retired or in limited backup roles that we will have no $$$ to have a decent team?
