with ike out of the picture, there will be no excusses for him next year. we really can't judge him on what happend last year, the team as a whole sucked and now with our players coming back healthy next year we should be much better, bennett has the time to produce. we need a 3rd WR now and i would like to see derek Stanley step up and take it. now about the 4th wr position. i would like to see us draft dexter jackson out off appalachian state. we would get an awesome kick returner and a quality wr. you right...in a sense.

the thing about him being the 3rd reciever is that he doesnt exactly fit the mold of a slot reciever. not great speed, but hes got height for good redzone ability. to me he fits the bill as a 2nd more than a slot. but i guess we will see, huh?

Because he's terrible. Has nothing to do with Martz. Quit blaming him for all the problems. This FO has dug the hole, not MM.

Bennett is a prototypical #2, possession receiver. Like it or not, that's what he is. He's a converted QB, so he doesn't have great speed, but he does have vision. He'll get you the first down if you isolate him on the outside. He's not, and let me repeat, NOT a slot receiver. He'll go over the middle, sure, but he's not going to get you any yards after the catch doing that.

He had his good years when he was on the outside, and put against a guy that was 5-8 inches shorter than him, whom he could catch the ball, break the "tackle" and then run as far as he could before a safety caught him. That's what he does. He also catches fades in the endzone. We'd have found out, except we never got to the redzone last year. He does not go over the middle on dump routes and he doesn't catch screen passes. As long as Bulger stays upright and Saunders sends Bennett out in isolation, you'll see he's much better than you think.

P.S. Tx, the Titans let him go because they had no $$ last year.

Well, he may stink as a WR but he's savvy as a businessman. He was able to manipulate a down year for WR talent in the FA market last year.

Bennett better step up or he's going to get booed right out of the DOME. Especially considering fan favorite ISSAC BRUCE has been let go.
