Its a mistake to write off ____________.

Is there a player on the roster who most Rams fans have written off who you think will become a significant contributer in the future?

I went with Greco. While many hoped he would have secured a place in the starting lineup by now, its important to remember that he's only 26 years old. For an OL, that's not exactly ancient. Last year, when he had his chances, I thought he fared well. Certainly, as a run blocker, he's more than adequate.

I'd like to see him win a starting OG spot this year and see what he can do.

I went with Clifton Ryan. I liked what he was able to do and I think as our defense continues to grow he, too, will be more dominating.

Darian Stewart, unfortunately all I have to base this on is a hope and a prayer.

I always liked Greco too, but forgot that he's only 26 now. He's got another 8 years of servicable playing time at guard if he develops into a good player. Hopefully he'll make it happen. Everything I remember is that all he did was try hard and do a best he could in his backup role. Hopefully he has it in him to win the RG spot. One less position we need to draft... and no Pouncey in the first!
    I believe!

Gilyard. He will produce next year. Guaranteed.

I seem to have been the only one to have voted for Justin King, but i remember him making a nice few plays in coverage when he was actually playing, and it seemed that the Rams pass defense faltered slightly when he went down and Kevin Dockery and Jerome Murphy had more playing time. I think King will be a very solid nickel corner, and will work well with Bartell and Fletcher on the outside

Re: Its a mistake to write off ____________.

i agree with what others have said but my choice wouldn`t be a guy mentioned so far...
my choice isn`t a guy that has been written off by everyone but a lot have when i think none should have so early in his career when he has produced against the odds.

    Donnie Avery.
i think he will explode in the McD system with Sam throwing to him...i don`t understand how some people made "excuses" for the lack of production at the QB position in his first two seasons due to the woeful play of the O-line, but have choosen to ignore all that when it comes to Avery because.."he was the first WR taken so he must be the best or he`s a bust". sure there`s room for improvement but he has still produced when those whose job it is to make sure the ball gets to him have been poor at their roles.

I went with Brandon 'Gibby' Gibson. Down the stretch of last seaon he showed flashes of become a starting WR , but it will take alot more of dedication on his part. I don't know Marty doesn't seem to be ready for the Pros, i'd give Gilyard one more year before I write him off.

I went with Mardy Gilyard although John Greco was a close second. I just want to see what this kid can do with a healthy wrist and hamstring.

I remember watching him in college and thinking that he's got 'it'. Let's hope he shows this with the Rams next year.

    WHAT SAY YE?

    Well I went with Greco.
I already think Greco is a better Gaurd than Goldberg. I think the only reason they kepted Goldberg in, is in a pinch he could play tackle.
The Rams running game was much better when Greco was playing.
I don't think the Rams need to keep Goldberg as a starter for his leadership abilities.

I picked Brandon Gibson. He showed some really good flashes with Bulger, Boller, and Null as his QB then he did not do as i expected with Bradford but with Mcdaniels spreading out the WRs he will make a huge impact. He wont fill the stat sheet on a weekly basis but he will get that 3rd down conversion and make a couple highlight reel leaping catches down the field.

Re: Its a mistake to write off ____________.

I would say Darrell Scott followed by James Butler (which seem to be unpopular choices)

Scott has all the tools to be a good DT speed strength size. He turrned it on half way through 09, but his progress was hampered because he was hurt alot this year. I still think this kid could be at least a key member of the rotation all he needs to do is stay in shape, keep his motor running, and use those tools he has.

James Butler is hurt too much, but with OJ gone I wouldn't write him off becoming a starter. IMO when healthy in our system he could he easily be a 90 tackle 4 interception 2.5 sack kind of guy. IMO he could be the biggest play maker in our secondary which isn't saying much with OJ gone.
