Re: It's official: The Rams are picking 14th in the 2011 NFL Draft

Hey Rams fans. Although I am ecstatic about my Hawks getting the win last night, I wanted to come by and say that you all should be very excited about whats coming with your team. It was a tough night for your guys but you had a 6 game turnaround this year and you have some GREAT pieces going forward. Bradford will be an elite QB not long from now, that defensive front is very good. I think we might have some fun years ahead of battling for the division. Both teams are going to be on the upswing over the next handful of years. Ya'll had a very good season considering where you have been the last three years.

My 2 cents on the Rams draft: First round, a big time WR like Julio Jones (Alabama) or Michael Floyd (Notre Dame), this cound be scary with Sam back there having time to throw. Second round, a CB, possibly Aaron Williams (Texas).

LB or DB in the first round. Every available penny of FA money should be spent on the best available WR. The Rams dont need another pup to groom at WR...they generally take a few years to come around.

Man, I'd love A.J Green. To tell you the truth, I'd be willing to trade up for him although it wouldn't make much sense seeing as one of the big 3 would drop to us. Julio Jones is good but inconsistent hands. Blackmon is also really good, but might not be available. Then A.J Green is the perfect receiver. 6'4, fast, phyiscal, strong, can block, great ball location. This kid has it all. Man would it be a pleasure to watch him and Bradford work together.

It would, but I bet he goes top 5. Arizona might be interested, imagine him and Fitzgerald together, dynamite. If he drops, I might be in favor of trading up, but otherwise it would cost an arm and 6 or 7 legs to get up to top 5 from 14. This team isn't in position to give away high picks in subsequent years either for a shot at one player this year.

I am still wavy on drafting a WR in 1st round, just because we are about to get 2 guys back that will most likely become our #1,and 2. And OLB - DB is a huge need for us.

    Im thinking two theories:
    1st - WR
    2nd - OLB
    3rd - CB/S

    or

    1st - Top DE/OLB left
    2 - CB
    3 - RB
And count that you resign clayton, and avery finally is the man. That we saw in week 5+6 vs wash and dallas

    BINGO!! This.

This is why I have Billy eschewing a wideout in the first round and drafting a D-Lineman. If Sam is ready to take off and fly then lets get him a veteran or two and not another rookie that needs to be developed.

Actually if you look at it objectively the WR corps is among the youngest positions on the team already. Therefore, I believe that Billy is not going to draft a wideout in the first round. He'll look to trade or sign a good one instead.

Also, I don't see any 4-3 OLBs worthy of the 14th pick at this time- although A. Ayers does look somewhat intriguing to be sure. And, I also believe that the Rams can get a DB later on and develop him; much like Spags has done with Bradley Fletcher.

This leaves (by process of elimination) the D-line that will most likely be addressed in the 1st round.

He has has his share of problems at center, but did improve as the year progressed. However he projects & plays better at guard.

You clearly haven't watched the Rams this season. At all.

For our 1st selection, I'd go with OLB Bruce Carter, North Carolina.

My second to the wish list (I think) would be A.J. Green, WR, Georgia.

BPA is the way to go in my opinion, with reciever given top priority in free agency!
Mark Ingram could be a surprise selection come draft day?
