"Its Only Preseason" (it-s oh-nlee pree-see-son)
1, Exclamation (rose-colored glasses fans): The apologist explanation for a preseason loss or poor performance. Sample: "Yes, the Rams lost and gave up 200 yards on the ground, but its only preseason."

2. Derision (naysayer fans): Skeptic's fallback. Sample: "Sure, the Rams looked great, but its only preseason." [NOTE: Often coupled with negative commentary regarding quality of opponent].
