I've got the Eagles GM on the phone. He wants to talk to you.

Inspired by RamFan16's post on the Eagles WR needs:

Here's the situation:
Eagles GM calls up the Rams FO and says they're in dire need of at least one WR and will consider a trade package for up to 3 of ours. The Rams FO calls you (because they know what a great negotiator you are) and says broker a deal for us.

So who do you give up? How many do you give up? Who do you want in return? Do you want draft picks in the package?

Make your best deal now.

Re: I've got the Eagles GM on the phone. He wants to talk to you.

If i want to get to the super bowl, i have to get by the eagles. Why should the rams help them out of their problem? I think the eagles are going to sign peter warrick if and when the bengals let him go for money reasons. The eagles have the most cap available in the nfc (over 10 million) why should they give up quality young players if they can just spend some cash.

Of course, if the eagles would overpay in the sense that we were getting a considerably better corner than we were giving up at reciever, that might be a different story but i just dont see that happening.

Bottom line. Is anyone on this board willing to give up kevin curtis for lito shepard? I certainly am not, even if the eagles would. That helps the eagles more than it helps us which means it doesnt help us get to the superbowl. They are not going to give up a young corner for dane looker. That leaves mcdonald. I cant see giving him up for matt ware. Is matt ware that much better than anyone we have at this point?

Now, if TO was out and fisher got hurt, it might be desparation for desparation, but for now, i dont see a fit, although i have to admit, this should be a very fun thread and as always, its a terrific post by The Biggest Bison of them All,

What do they want for Trotter?

Is trotter better at this point than any of our three linebackers?

Yes, Trotter is one of the best LB's in football. He's on a completely other level than Claiborne or Coakley.

If he can return to his '99-'03 level, he certainly is one of the best. Here's to hoping his '05 isn't any better than his '04.

Negotiating Tactics

In most negotiations, it is best to make the other guy propose something. In most instances, you laugh at what he is proposing, but at least you have an idea of what he is thinking of.

In any event, I'd be inclined to say "No deal." We have had enough Wrs drafted who didn't pan out, and now we finally have a little group that looks promising.

Maybe we can somehow get them Milton Wynn, Eric Crouch and that Francis St. Paul (Or was it Paul St. Francis or something like that?)

I'm impressed fellas. There's something to be said for being comfortable in the "skin you're in". If we feel this good about the team we currently have, hopefully the players and coaches do as well. This could be a good sign of things to come.

I'd say what do you want for Sean Consadine, Micheal Lewis, Dexter Wynn or Sheldon Brown or Roderick Hood.

I'd at least entertain offers for Shaun McDonald or Dane Looker, but I'm not sure I'd make the deal. Depends on what we're getting. One for one, those guys might be worth a Roderick Hood, Matt Ware, or Dexter Wynn, but I'd like to hear what it would cost to grab someone like Sheldon Brown.

He was on another level when he tried to leave Philly and succeed elsewhere too, and it was a bad level. I'm not inclined to think that'd be different if he tried to come here. I think he's one of those players that just really excel in the system he's in, probably like a lot of New England players who couldn't do well on other teams.

Alright fine, but I'm not going to be one of the fans that say "oh, because he's a Ram he's the best."

Most of you know me better than that. The original question was who would you ask for, and I would ask for Jeremiah Trotter.

Or also I'd offer McDonald or Looker or both for Corey Simon

I'd do that also 16. Would love to have Simon.

Agreed. I mean the Packers might swap Furgeson for Simon and quite frankly I think Looker and McDonald are better than him.
