Jackson Questionable; Sore Back "Hasn't Calmed Down"

Jackson questionable; sore back “hasn’t calmed down”

    St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Just like last Friday, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson is listed as questionable on the injury report. Under NFL guidelines, that means his chances of playing Sunday at Chicago are 50-50.

Jackson’s sore back “just hasn’t calmed down to where we want it, and we certainly don’t want to reaggravate it,” coach Steve Spagnuolo explained after Jackson completed a second full week in succession without practicing.

After warming up last Sunday, Jackson felt good enough to go, and he wound up rushing 23 times for 89 yards and catching five passes for 27 yards in the 27-17 loss to Seattle. It might be more difficult to get loose at Soldier Field, where Sunday’s high temperature is expected to be in the upper 30s and the wind always is strong.

    Notes & quotes:

*Friday’s practice was held outdoors at Rams Park, with snow flurries swirling about. It was good preparation for Sunday, Spagnuolo noted. “I thought the weather cooperated perfectly. I hope it helps us in the game,” he said.

*C Jason Brown (knee) and G Richie Incognito (foot) are expected to be in the lineup vs. the Bears. They are listed as probable on the injury report.

*QB Marc Bulger (knee), T Jason Smith (concussion) and FB Mike Karney (neck) have been ruled out.

*In franchise history, the Rams are 106-106-2 in December.

Well, I'm confused on Jackson's status, I'm gessing the Bears are too.

Good to see Brown and Cogs as probable.

this can be a winnable game on Sunday, but I hope we don't push our entire offense back onto the field too early and risk re-aggravation. I'm glad I don't have to make these decisions.
