Jackson's new nick-name

Instead of his self proclaimed "Action Jackson" maybe Dancing Jackson should be more appropriate.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

I have been disappointed with his side-stepping and hesitation. I really think he needs to ram ahaed with the ball. He is big and can punish defenders.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

"Scatman" Jackson. He taps, he tip toes and slides. If his legs ran as well as he runs his mouth, then he might have reached 1500 yards this season.

Honest guys, there were some huge holes there. He just choses to do all this side steping.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

It all comes full circle with our running game I think. Jackson isn't getting the ball enough which puts him in the mindset that the rare times in which he does get the carry it needs to be a big gain which leads to him getting minimal to no gains which gives him less carries. If he were to be told before the game that he is guaranteed to get 20-25 carries then he would probably play the way we all wish he would. But then again there is no reason a coach should have to guarantee his player that he will get a bunch of carries.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

How about "Scapegoat Jackson," since that is what all of you are trying to make him.

I don't think that it is just the fans...RamWraith wrote:

S. Jackson I believe has NO respect from any team mates. No one talked or looked at him the entire game. Even in the huddles he was a lone eagle. During commercial breaks he is standing outside the circle looking into the crowd.

Sounds to me like it is something deeper than just fan perception...

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

I don't claim to know what Jackson's relationship is with the team, but don't tell me you know what it is just because of a couple of observations of interaction on the sideline.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

I don't claim to know Av. It just seems a bit telling when a player does not seem to be embraced by his teammates. I don't know if this something new or a self imposed attitude by Jackson or just a misconception. It just seems odd.

I think that he is so used to not having holes that he does not trust them to be there (even when they are there) and is trying to do too much on his own. With our record this is a good year for him to learn though.

Re: Jackson's new nick-name

Jackson needs to suscribe to Mike Shanahan's run philosophy: you can make ONE cut ONLY and then head up field period!
Jackson very likely would have scored on one play in the red zone today if he had simply followed his blockers left instead of electing to cut back to his right --- right into a Viking tackler. He surely would have gotten the 1st down if not the TD.. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.....
