Jacob Bell may be done for the rest of the season

Jacob Bell has a torn hamstring muscle

Left guard Jacob Bell could be lost for the rest of the 2009 season due to a torn hamstring muscle.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said the team still is weighing whether to place Bell on injured reserve.

“They call it a ‘bicep tear’ of the hamstring,’’ Spagnuolo said. “It will not require surgery, but we may have to make a decision there on how long that is going to be.’’

Either Mark Setterstrom or John Greco will take Bell’s spot in the starting lineup.

Bell was injured on a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown by Vincent Fuller in the fourth quarter of the Rams' 47-7 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Major question is will he be back next year?

Was so excited when this guy signed with us, but doesn't seem like much has panned out.

According to what the coaches are saying, he has been one of the best performers on the O-line this year. He's certainly picked it up since his slow start last year.

This has been a very tough year on the injury front indeed, especially on the Rams frontline.
Jason Smith has had a rough 1st year dealing with concussions, Ritchie Incognito has had injury issues missing a significant amount time and has had attitude issues on the field. (2 personal fouls Sunday for Cogs!)
Jason Brown was knocked out briefly from the lineup, earlier this season, but bounced back quickly.
    Now Bell is down.
There wasn't enough time this year for the Rams starting offensive line to gel together.
The only major constant was Alex Barron. Its a wonder that Steven Jackson has rushed over 1,000 yards.

Re: Jacob Bell may be done for the rest of the season

This isn't good at all. I don't think Jacob Bell has played nearly as bad as people say he has. And to add onto this, we just released Incognito who was decent when he wasn't busy head-butting people. I hope Steven Jackson can adjust to this new line and hopefully they can open up some holes for him to run through.
