Jake Long comes back after the Bye Week.

Do you guys think the Long's rehab and the schedule sets up in a way. Where fisher and company don't risk anything and not let him play at the beginning. He will then comeback after the bye week in week 4 and start week 5 onwards?

Long shouldn't need a lot of time to get prepared to play.
Barring setback, he should be ready week 1. If a pro-bowl caliber player is able to play, you play him.

I do not think he should play unless he is 100% healthy. If that means that he isnt ready til the after the bye week, then so be it. But it would not make much sense to start him if he is not fully ready to go. When is he scheduled to return anyway? I was told that he would be able to go week 1 also. Has something changed between a few months ago and now?

After training camp and 4 preseason games, how many players are 100% on Week 1?

Sounds like a plan. Perhaps a couple more weeks could work wonders in strengthening / rehab so that JL will give the rookies a run for their money.

Possibly - if we draft Jake Matthews .. There hasn't been much info on the day to day progress of Jake's rehab. That said, recovery periods appear to get faster and faster commensurate with improvements in both surgical procedures and rehab methods.

In Herb Edwards voice..."He's paid to play the game, so play the game!"

Hardly anybody, but I was referring to the ACL injury silly

I'd say both him and Sam are ready come Week 1. ACL's just aren't as big as they used to be. Hopefully they are both ready but none of us will really know especially with Fisher's ability to keep his injuries so in-house.

they'll take it easy on him in training camp but he should be ready for opener.
