Its a crazy idea and I'm sure no one on the coaching staff has discussed it, but when I watch Craft play I think he'd be a decent safety. He blitzes well, wraps up pretty well in tackling, and does alright in help defense. I cringe when he has to cover receivers on the corner. Might he be a serviceable safety?
He does have a safety type skillset, but he is just too small to play at either safety position.Quote:

Seems a bit late in his career for a position change. I don't think he has the size to hold up at strong safety, and we already have a free safety. But we've got nothing to lose at this point, so we could always give it a shot.
Whatever the Rams do, I think they need to keep Craft. He started things in St. Louis pretty badly, but IMO he's really come around and has turned into a solid performer who makes plays. As far as playing safety, I think RamsInfiniti made a good point about his size, but size really doesn't seem to matter with Haslett so what the hey.:D
He's too small both in stature & muscle to play FS, but he does well at 3rd of 4th CB, if he wants to come back we can sign him since he'll be cheap.
