I say sign that Lovell guy from pre-season. He kicked well IIRC.

Its not looking good. That's for sure. Is it a lack of confidence at this point or has he just started the inevitable decline?

It sure seemed to come on fast. Do kickers ever rebound from something like this?

Kickers can rebound, but leg strength can diminish with age. I think that, at a minimum, Wilkins needs to have a smaller cap number next year.

I would agree with bringing him back. Did he ever catch on with a team?

Can't post a link but on nfl.com in the players section it says that he's playing for us so he must be a FA unless he's on the practice squad or something.

    Re: Jeff Wilkins??

Wilkins went thorugh a BAD slump earlier this year, but it seemed he was able to get back to at least an above average kicker a little after that.
I think he'll stay around for a few more years, he still has a pretty decent leg on kickoffs at least, doesn't he?

    Re: Jeff Wilkins??

Maybe it is time to go, certainly for veteran kicker type money. I say go pickup new blood......maybe John Sullivan out of New Mexico. He's been Money for the Lobos this year. Why not our next Money next year?

    I blame the playcalling

Wilkins may be past it. I think it's time we cut ties, his age and salary being mitigating factors.
