A Jenkins thought!!
Just a thought really but do you think that Jenkins could still be HAD from carolina??? Would the Rams still be interested????? Could we afford him????
Would you want him now that his weight has increased??? I WOULD!!!
I'M still interested in this guy clan and would love something STILL to happen, I still think that this guy has some great footie left in him, I DO believe that his days with carolina are drawing to a close and may be his price has fallen, imagine him with Adam...... heh I can dream I know!!
Heres another question if we would of napped jenkins on the draft day do you think that the Rams would of gone in an different direction?????
Ok thats me done
thoughts
I still think jenkins would look great in an Ram uniform

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
I would still take him for the right price. Theres no such thing as having too many talented defensive lineman. I'm sure he could get himself in shape, so I would take him but for no more than a third rounder. Carolina is in a tight spot now with having to negotiate with Gross and Peppers, Jenkins may just get released because he is the odd man out money wise. Carolina may not have the money for all three and you know they will keep Peppers.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
He's no longer a priority. If the Ram's go after another free agent it needs to be a DE. I think the line is just about as good as it's going to be this year.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
I really dont know how you can say dt is no longer a priority. I dont know about you but Wroten,Kennedy,Carriker have not proven themselves to be anything in the NFL yet. Well Kennedy may have proven to be a bust, but the other two havnt. Also Glover isnt exactly a spring chicken. Plus if we still added Jenkins at the right price Carriker could alternate from de and dt. It would make us a better team at the right price.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
We could definitely use some more beef on the D-line.
However Jenkins current weight issue is a concern.
Sounds like he needs a kitchen chair with wheels on it so that he can push himself away from the table easier.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
After camp gets going and the coaches evaluate what we really have, who knows what might happen. Heck we still have next year's draft picks to bargain with. I don't think we should give up more than a two for Jenkins and obviously would prefer a 3rd or less. However it all depends on the circumstances -- if one of our key linemen were to be injured, then the leverage advantage would shift to the Panthers. Much will depend on the play of Jimmy Kennedy -- if he can show enough in camp and pre-season to be a meaningful part of the D-line rotation, then we will probably stand pat.
If we had traded for Jenkins, I believe we would still have taken Carriker as he is such a high character guy, and extremely versatile to boot. I believe he will be a fixture for the Rams for many years.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
The only way you'd get him here is with a flat deck truck and beefy crane.
I don't think that Carolinas trade demads would have changed at all due to his reported weight. I think they still feel he is a pro bowl preformer, regardless of what he reports to camp weighing. And if they couldnt get what they thought was fair value before, no way do they get it now."There's only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything. I do, and I demand that my players do."

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
Yes, if the price is right. Sure, I would like to see Jenkins in Rams uniform too!
The weight, we'll sign him up on the Nutrisystem program, no problem. 320 to 330 with the right strength and stamina level ought to be fine on him, I think.
Yes, I think we would have, and should have, gone for AC anyway. But definitely glad we did! :r

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
They wouldn't trade him for the right price on draft day, why would their price come down now? Jenkins' weight has ballooned as well. I'm more than willing to see what we have in some of these unproven young guys.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
I really wanted this guy in the Rams' uniform, but the whole weight blowing up thing could just simply mean it has been a blessing in disguise to not get this guy.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
Nick was really hoping we would get this guy. We all tried to calm Nick down in the Draft Day Chat. He just did not want to let it go well maybe its for the best Nick.

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
Is there an accurate source that lists his present weight? I remember reading during the pre-draft furor that he had hired a personal trainer and was in terrific shape. I believe that statement came from Jenkin's agent, but I don't have a link to substantiate it. Does anyone know what he really weighs ??

Re: A Jenkins thought!!
The way our DT's played last year, even if we carted Jenks in and plopped him at the line at 400 lbs he'd eat up more blockers. LITERALLY!
