    Jerome Carter

Do you think we could move him to Outside LB?

No, because I dont think we will stay in the 4-3 much longer, and like Dexter in Dallas, Carter doesn't have the size to be an outside LB, and I don't think he can play inside.

Interesting idea. Maybe we could put Pisa at DT then.

16, I appreciate you're creativity when it comes to the roster, but I just don't think Carter can get big enough to handle the SOLB spot. He's about 4 inches too short, and 30 pounds too light. TE's and pulling linemen would eat him up.

Remember how it worked out when we moved Lamar Gordon to fullback, Furrey to safety, or Crouch the quitter to WR LOL. Nuff said.

    Re: Jerome Carter

I think Carter needs to focus on playing SS, he could very well end up being the starter if we don't sign or draft a SS.

With our track record with 'projects', I'm afraid i wouldn't be in favour of it. Carter has only been on the roster for a year and deserves more time to make an impact at SS.

Besides, asking a guy to pack on 30 pounds in 6 months on a 5'11 frame is a big ask.

    Patience..........

    Re: Jerome Carter

Haven't we already gone over this once before? If a guy can't tackle at safety, why do you think he'll be better closer to the line where he has to shed blockers to do it?

Agreed. Let's get bonifide players playing THEIR positions. I remember the talk at the end of the 2004 season of moving Pisa T. to safety. Thankfully that didn't happen.

    Re: Jerome Carter

I think the days of projects on defense are gone as long as Haslett is around. He's a no-nonsense guy that does not seem to want anything to do with trying to put square pegs in round holes.

Furrey at safety was not all that bad, but all the others were. It would be a bad idea to move Carter to OLB
