    Re: Jerome Murphy

Lets give up on another young promising player for having off games once in a while. He's playing pretty solid for a rookie. Good thing we just dont give up on all the rookies who dont perform like a superstar right off the bat i.e Chris Long. People wanted to give up on that guy too but he is a disruptive force now. You are right Murphy did miss the tackle on the td but he also made a solid tackle in the open field on Steve Smith to force a punt when the Panthers were trying to mount a comeback.

Murphy is tough, a very good tackler, and has a lot of promise. Is he a lockdown cover corner? Not at this point (8 games into his rookie year), but he playing fine overall.

Yep. Murph is going to be one of our solid starters in 2 years. What is really nice is if we had followed the plan of action put forth by the OP, Chris Long would have been cut long ago because he wasn't perfect his rookie season.

    Re: Jerome Murphy

Most mid-to-late round corners barely get any playing time in their first couple of years. We have got lucky with contributions from guys like Fletcher, King and now Murphy. When Bartell was picked in the second round it took him a year or two to get on the field.

Let's be thankful we are getting some contribution from another member of a Devaney draft class. And while Murphy's coverage isn't perfect yet, when he hits someone, they know they have been hit. He loves to pop people.

    Re: Jerome Murphy

It has been clear QB's have been picking on him but he has made some good plays. He was never known for his coverage ability it was his physicality that brought him to the Rams. I remember a play vs the raider when he blitz and knocked a olineman that was twice his size on his ass.
