What do you all think of Angelo as GM?

Rex Grossman. Seriously though, not real impressed with the drafts he's had in Chicago. Some of his free agency moves don't look half bad though so at least he's willing to spend someone's money.

Now that Stan has finally spoken it sounds like the new HC could be hired first and that new HC might have some say in the GM matter.

So, I think the focus of speculation should initially be on the next HC.

And in the last 5 years since, have gone back to the playoffs once while the defense keeps getting older, and the offense keeps getting... well... the same or worse.

I think the Bears have done a pretty good job over the past decade or so- been to two NFC Title games and one Super Bowl, which is more than can be said for a lot of teams. Angelo's track record overall as Rammed pointed out is solid. The problem this year- and Angelo's downfall, in my mind- is relying on Caleb Hanie to hold down the fort when Cutler went down and not getting someone in there when the bears still had a chance to capitalize on a good start.

I just envision a younger GM in St. Louis, though.

So that would mean no Bill Polian?

Fair point. I was thinking more along the lines of personnel. The defense is getting old, the offense is nothing special, and i cant think of any players they drafted working out that well, except Hester of course. Maybe i just dont like the Bears...

Dont know enough about him or his history to make an honest opinion.Other than what ive read in this thread so i dont have a take on him.But with that said if Stan thinks hes the guy then im for it.I really like what im hearing from Stan and his reputation proves he knows what to do.He took denver from a terrible team when he took over and turned them into a powerhouse when they had Melo.Consistent playoffs and a couple season heavy favorites.
