    Jim Rome vs. Jim Everett

I just went back and re-watched the moment when Jim Everett made Jim Rome his female dog on Rome's own show.

Do yourself a favor. Search it on YouTube, and as a Rams fan (because of Everett) and a non-douche (because of the eternal douche, Jim Rome), enjoy that 2 minute video.

    That is all.

I always liked Everett, who aside from Kurt Warner is the best QB we had for any length of time in the last 35 years. Unfortunately, people started to sour on him after the infamous "phantom sack" NFC Title Game vs. SF back in '89. That was really a shame, too because we knocked off the Giants and Eagles in successive weeks on the road to get there.

And Jim Rome is a grade-A dick. Completely unprofessional.

Yeah he is. It was hilarious to see him go from smirking, arrogant smack talker, to meek, cowering wimp in two seconds when Everett came over the table and knocked him to the floor. I'm thinking Rome wishes he would have taken Everett's advice and gone to a station break.

As NJ said, I too liked Everett, a fine Rams QB, good person (gave my eight year old son his autograph and I took a nice picture of them together at Rams Park).

The silly sack, well let's just say it was a mistake -- an incorrect way to protect the ball under pressure from the defense [how many professional players disgrace themselves in much more serious and degrading ways!].

PS: As for Rome, he is an authentic jerk. And is a whiner. íPunto!

    Everett sacks Rome!

Re: Jim Rome vs. Jim Everett

Jim Everett was a very good QB for the Rams.....If only Dickerson would have shut up and stayed who knows what would have transpired. There are so many rumors around the phantom sack but if you ever witnessed Jimbo play, he was a tough dude.....

Rome is a punk but it seems he did ok after that incident. Another example of how society can sometimes reward bad behavior.

Believe it or not, I am still in contact with Jim, he is a great guy. I ALMOST got him to come to a ClanRam bash one year, things just never worked out.

How true! Wow, what would of been with Everett + ED!

The mid to late 80s Rams were a very good team. We had an excellent, terrific OL led by Jackie Slater. Henry Ellard. LeRoy Irvin. Mike Guman. Nolan Cromwell. Gary Jeter. Vince Newsome. Jerry Gray. Mike Lansford. Reggie Doss. Kevin Greene. Coach Robinson. Et cetera!

If the great Dickerson hadn't dropped the ball to leave, stayed put, wow...

Any of you "old timers" remember his football nickname given to him by an O-lineman? Rep points to the first correct answer ..
