Just give him the damn ball!
We are not utilizing Steven Jacksons talent enough. Especially yesterday with Feeley as our starting QB.
Steven Jackson had 22 touches of the football yesterday. That's not enough! I know it's obvious to everyone we play that Jackson is at least our best runningback if not best offensive threat. My answer to that is, SO WHAT!
Just looking at yesterdays games:
Murray (Cowboys) 25 touches
Hardesty (Browns) 35 touches
Turner (Falcons) 27 touches
Forte (Bears) 27 touches
Foster (Texans) 30 touches
Peterson (Vikings) 25 touches
Other than Murray of the Cowboys who is now going to the Hall of Fame because of our non existent run defense. All the other guys are the feature players on their teams offense. Everybody including us knows that. They all still had more touches than our feature player. Again, I say who cares just give Steven Jackson the DAMN ball!

Re: Just give him the damn ball!
That's because you have to actually get first downs to keep giving him the ball.

As I look at the plays, I think SJ was featured big time in this game plan. I can't see him getting more plays when his avg. and as we fall so far behind.

Re: Just give him the damn ball!
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up, LARAM. You would love to give Sjax the ball more, but with the situations we always put ourselves in week in week out, you have to start throwing more...

Re: Just give him the damn ball!
Also the fact that Jackson can not get any significant yards when we DO give him the ball, does not help his case either.
I feel that we gave Jackson the ball TOO many times yesterday. We're up against the #1 run defense with a shotty o-line and an aging running back? It's not going to work out too well, and it was obvious our running game sucked yesterday. No need to keep on feeding what doesn't work.
And to validate what I said, we gave Jackson the ball three times in a row on one drive. He gained about 2 yards total. I don't see the point in giving him the ball more.

Re: Just give him the damn ball!
I would actually like to see Jackson given some holes to run through when he gets the ball which would result in him being much more effecctive. Hes not Barry Sanders, he needs lanes to run through which our o-line almost never gives him. 18 carries was fine in yesterdays game, but he is a hell of a reciever out of the back field we just refuse to feed him the ball. When we do throw it to him he is in no mans land and the entire defense saw it coming.

Re: Just give him the damn ball!
Given Jackson the ball isn't the problem or him getting older isn't a problem either. It'sour dam O Line not opening any fricking holes for him whatsoever! The few plays we did Sunday he did something with the ball. You be kidding me? Steven does not look like some old beat up running back like Cadilac Willams out there that makes a crucial mistake 2 games that tilts the scales in the other teams favor from there on out. I hate him we need to give Tolston a shot!
