Just watched Martz's press conference
here are some of the highlights.
-Martz was in GREAT spirits and dressed to kill. 3 piece suit.
-Said under advise from his doctor that he needed to step away. Wasn't fair to the team to miss 4 more weeks and then come back at the recommended 50%. Working yourself back slowly
-Said that this was ONLY for the year. Said St. Louis was home and that he was under contract and didn't see any reason why he wouldn't be back next season
-Asked about the incident of trying to get a play in on Sunday and Zyggy blocking it. His response was that he was there to talk about his health and didn't what to talk on other subjects.
-Said deserves a chance at being a head coach, a really is ready to be one in the NFL. Wasn't worried about the current staff, said things would all be handled.
-Said there might be some different ways of doing things now, and said he was ok with that.

Follow up with Shaw after Martz....
Shaw was on 1380 in press conference following Martz. Shaw said he fully expects Martz to be back next year. Shaw also said the issue was not a play suggestion but the team official who wanted to relay the info wanted a live phone in the coaches box. Shaw said he turned the request down because he didn't want a live phone in the press box.

I wouldn't get to excited GC. Something tells me this is still the last we are going to see of Martz supporting the horns. This was the front offices way of "taking out the trash". I wouldn't get too excited. It will be interesting to see what the weeks bring.
