Re: Keenan Burton - Improving, Impressing.

Great news!! ( Regarding previous injuries )

According to his Scouting Profile, he never injured or tore anything in his knee in college:

2005: Suffered a broken bone (fifth metatarsal) in his right foot vs. Idaho State (9/10), missing the next four games vs. Indiana, Florida, South Carolina and Mississippi before returning to the lineup. Had surgery on the foot in September and again in January, 2006.
I was wrong, and stand corrected. I'm feeling much better about his future after that.

Still, I hate him being hurt.

Well that was one of his two injuries in college, he had another injury his senior year at Kentucky, which was his knee.

    2007

Burton began his senior season with the Wildcats strong. In the first five games of the season he would compile 422 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.[6] However struck by flu like symptoms and sprains in the knee and ankle would limit his playing time.

He still managed to lead the team for the season in receiving with 685 yards and 9 touchdowns.[1]
The team earned another trip to the Music City Bowl and again Burton would be limited in his performance. He would catch 7 passes for 56 yards.

The team would win the game just as they did last year despite the low performance.

Burton would skip the Senior Bowl to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee following the completion of the season.[7]

Doesn't say what knee it was in College, however in this picture its his right knee from todays game.

and I know... I hate him being hurt too. :/

He had a sprain, not a tear.... If I read that correctly.

I believe you did, I'm just saying he did have surgery on it. Which is what lowered his draft status going into the 2008 NFL Draft.

Well... I like to see this from Keenan on his twitter just a few minutes ago:

Gibson, Avery, and Robinson are already the top 3 WR's for next season with Amendola sneaking up. Like I said before Burton is odd man out here and with this injury it will be hard for him to find playing time, especiallly if Rams at a WR in off season or a TE that is servicable

Odd man out? There is nothing in writing that says Gibson, Avery, and Robinson are out Top 3 next year. Robinson has been injury prone since his debut in the NFL, Gibson has played one game, sure he's showed some moves but thats one game. Avery has been shaky ALL season being banged up alot too. Amendola is more of a return specialist rather than a WR for us. Seems pretty solid to me?! Yeah right. Burton has been healthy all season aside from this and has been are most solid receiver, Spags is definitely keeping this guy around for another shot, he likes him, which is something to be said in the NFL. He's made some great catches for us, gotten 17+ first downs and was a leader all around and an extremely hard worker in practice what Spags called a "workhorse" in practice. No doubt he's staying on the Rams Depth Chart.

    Spags:

"It was nice to see some of the other guys step up. That's what you've always got to do in this league. We've always talked about that. I know Keenan will be rooting for those guys as hard as anybody. We'll miss him. We'll miss his leadership. He'll bounce back he's a resilient guy. He knows what he's faced with and he'll get better," said Spagnuolo on how the injury will affect the team

Re: Keenan Burton - Improving, Impressing.

I think we need to be very careful before we anoint Robinson and Gibson as the 2nd coming of Bruce and Holt. Both guys might very well be productive players for the Rams in the future, but there is very little body of work for both guys for anyone to go overboard in their praise for either guy.

Robinson has to successfully return from injury. And Gibson has played what- one game? two games? Let's reserve judgment until we see some more from these guys.
