well it's good to see they got the ball rolling, and hopefully the next name is Carriker.

You're right Smizz. Let's get it on! :bash:

I know it is one thing to "sign the players" right now and quite different is to see them in Rams uniform the 1st game of the regular season. I hope Clifton Ryan is among the latter!

Re: Keith Jackson signs

We got him and Wade down, hopefully the domino effect will start rolling. I know the Bears signed their #1, and usually once one team does it, the rest will start to follow. I want these guys to not miss a practice, because I think we have got a real shot for the next few years to do something great.

Re: Keith Jackson signs

They obviously think they have something with him, if he's getting a three year contract. I mean I know it's salary heavy, however, seventh rounders don't usually get more than one year contracts, right?

My bad, Rams also signed wide receiver Derek Stanley, another 7th round pick earlier.

Re: Keith Jackson signs

Glad to see this, as the more competition in camp the better especially at the DT positon. It is imperative we have Carricker signed and ready to go, and to be fair IMO both the Rams and Adam seem to realize this.

Re: Keith Jackson signs

I like this, it's an important step for the defense. The sooner we can get all these young kids signed and into training camp is more time they have to prepare for the upcoming season as well as become one cohesive unit come opening day. This statement is especially true of the defensive line.

Big difference between the #31 overall pick (Bears), and the #13 pick. It seems the Rams always wait until their #1 selection is bracketed (in this case the #12 and #14 overall) before they commit. Hopefully it gets done quickly, but I am not holding my breath. Carriker could speed up things if he wanted to, but he's a smart guy and likely will stay behind the scenes. If something (injury) were to happen to him, his first contract with the Rams could be his last as an NFL player. Being as it's a business first and foremost, he'll let his agent get the best deal he can wrangle for him -- and that may take some time ...

Yeah, but usually once you get a later pick signed, picks in front of him will be getting a little more money, and it continues it's way up until it gets to the earlier picks, sometimes. Last year Houston done had a deal with Williams, so the Saints did not want to pay Bush more than Williams for sure. It's like a domino effect, one falls, and the rest will follow, eventually.
