San Francisco ***** QB Tim Rattay (shoulder) practiced with the first-string offense Wednesday, Sept. 29, and threw the ball pretty well. He took the majority of the reps with the starters. While all indications point towards him returning to the starting lineup in Week 4, head coach Dennis Erickson wants to see how he is doing Thursday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 1, before making a final decision on his status.
