King signed!
The Rams agreed to terms Wednesday afternoon with cornerback Justin King, a fourth-round draft pick from Penn State. It's a three-year deal; financial terms weren't immediately available.
With King under contract, only second-round draft pick Donnie Avery, the wide receiver from the University of Houston, remains unsigned among the Rams' 2008 draft class.
Reporting day is Thursday for training camp in Mequon, Wis., with the first practice scheduled Friday at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Re: King signed!
Indeed, good stuff. As more low 1st and early 2nds get signed, Avery's agent and the Rams will have less and less maneuvering room, and a deal should come pretty quickly as it becomes apparent. Avery could always just tell his agent that the deal is good enough as it is so he can get to camp on time so he can establish himself as the #3 guy.

And this is precisely what he should do. If he is foolish enough to hold out "For a Few Dollars More" (A reference for all of you Clint Eastwood fans), then he might dig himself quite a hole behind Keenan Burton of even R. Caldwell. He's got to ask himself if the extra dough is worth sitting on the bench in what could then become a wasted rookie year.
WHAT SAY YE?

Youve got a good point. Not only could this become a wasted rookie year if he holdsout, it might hurt him in the long run if Burton establish's himself as a solid #3 for now and potentially a #1 or #2. And as pointed out, maybe he'll get stuck behind R. Caldwell or someone else. He should sign now and once he proves himself the big contract will come. He must prove himself, and if hes not signed or lets other people go ahead of him, hes going to be sitting on the bench for a while.....potentially and hypothetically of course.
And i love how weve got everyone else signed. i really liked this draft except for not getting Colt Brennen.
GO RAMS!!!!

Re: King signed!
Glad to learn about JK's signing -- Welcome to the Rams young man!
Sorry for repeating this wandering question of mine: anyone know about Marc Magro (LB from WVA), where he stands with the Rams at this point?

Re: King signed!
Thanks Chipper. I'm hoping Magro does make the Rams LB corps and join CB King as part of the rookies in our defense.
