Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
Klopfenstein, Alston Agree to Terms
Wednesday, July 26, 2006
11:55 a.m. CT
The Rams have agreed to a four-year contract with TE Joe Klopfenstein and a three-year contract with LB Jon Alston. Klopfenstein was the 46th overall selection in the second round out of Colorado, while Alston was the Rams' second of three third-round picks and the 77th overall selection.
The Rams have agreed to terms on nine players in the 2006 draft class, as only first-round pick CB Tye Hill remains. WR Marques Hagans, DT Claude Wroten, and TE Dominique Byrd agreed to terms Tuesday. DE Victor Adeyanju, LB Tim McGarigle, and G Tony Palmer agreed to terms Monday, and G Mark Setterstrom agreed to terms July 20.

Re: Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
Great news. I had a feeling if one of the TE's signed the other would be sure to follow.
Gotta earn that starting job.
Oh yeah...Hi Clan!

Re: Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
Hill should be signed tonight or tomorrow. I'd like to see him get into camp on time and be ready for the season. anyway, great news getting everyone else signed. i think this is one of the best draft class rams ever had in a long time.

Re: Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
The Front Office is really doing a good job. With the lack of players at certain positions, especially TE, its really important to get these young guys into camp. They need all the time they can get so that they can learn the system and contribute this season. IMO, getting Klop into camp on time was really important, as i feel the more time he gets learning the offense and playing with Bulger then the better it is for the team. I can see him being a great tool for this offense.

Re: Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
I agree 100% with Tomahawk. Also a few days ago I was actually starting to doubt the FO had a reasonable plan for getting our rookies to camp in time, they sure put those thoughts to shame and I couldn't be happier about it! Hopefully we'll get Hill too, but even if he misses a couple of days I'm still real happy the FO got the other 9 guys in on time! Man the greats news have just been pouring in!

Re: Klopfenstein, Alston agree to terms
It would be nice, though not really saying much, since we're not exactly known for our stellar corners.
