Plaxico was a free agent, he wasn't released or cut. I believe the same with Vrabel. Plus, Vrabel was behind a lot of good linebackers in Pitt- he went to NE to have a chance at becoming a starter. I'm not talking about free agent loses, I'm talking about guys they cut and trade.

It also makes me wonder why they let him go. It obviously wasn't a big money issue since he just got signed. Has he been floating around all off season? A good blocking fullback would be real nice but this is a definite wait and see.
