Last Night's Win Was Worth The Lower Draft Choice

While some are lamenting the move from the 8th pick in the draft to the 11th-13th (not sure how the "tiebreakers" work out), I think last night's win is more important.

Sure, there may be a player that the Rams will miss out on, but the Rams will still have the opportunity to draft a very talented defensive player. Heck, in this year's draft, the picks 11-13 could have brought Derrick Johnson, Odell Thurman or Lofa Tatupu.

Playing well in the finale is more important to the Rams. In particular, it gave confidence to players like O.J. Atogwe, Anthony Hargrove, Ron Bartell and Pisa Tinoisamoa. All of these guys are going to be important to next year's success.

So, let the (blue) chips fall as they may on draft day. I'll take the win.

I agree completely. A win last night is more important for the team than 3 or 4 spots in a draft.

I agree Avenger. I don't think any team should ever be coached to play at a substandard level for any reason. Winning should be the top priority for every game.

I'll take this win, a little bit of postive public attention, and a lower draft pick and be happy.

I don't think any professional player is going to go out and tank a game just to get a better draft pick. The players are playing for their jobs also, so who's to say that if a player tanks the game to lose, that he doesn't get released because of poor play. Same goes for coaches they aren't gonna lose just for a better pick.
