    Lets ask ourselves a question.

With the recent stories about the Panthers listening to offers for Kris Jenkins and wanting a 2nd or 3rd Round pick, would you guys trade Joe Klopfenstein if it only took at added 5th Round Pick to get Jenkins, so Klop and a 5th for Jenkins?

I am asking this because Randy McMichael wasn't signed to take partial stats, he was signed to be the Feature Tight End. He's what, only 27? He's still young, but so is Klopfenstein.

So would you guys trade Klopfenstein if we had to add a 5th Round pick only?

Kind of a weak topic but just too see some opinions.

Knowing Jenkins has some issue, I would go with Dominique Byrd and a 5th. I would go with a 3rd and a 5th and no players.

I sincerely doubt Carolina takes players in this trade. Vast majority of teams don't include players in trades like that. The way the system works nowadays, it's picks only. With the occasional very rare exception. Besides. Byrd is useless as trade bait--he has 2 legal charges against him.

They're not going to pick up the phone if Dominique Byrd is the feature part of your offer. Maybe you give them a third round pick and then throw Byrd in like an after-dinner mint. Because he practically has no value at this point due to his off the field trouble, so you'd have to pair him up with something that is already close to what they'd accept.

Klopfenstein and a fifth is intriguing but ultimately if I'm Carolina I'd rather have the extra first day pick or the '07/'08 package.

I'd trade Klop, a 5th, and Butler for Kris and a Happy Meal. But Kris might eat it.

Re: Lets ask ourselves a question.

from what i have read in the carolina newspapers, they are looking for help at linebacker and safety and wide receiver. we cant help them at safety or wide receiver, and i doubt we trade pisa.

The carolina papers say that they are praying for a 1, want a 2, but may well settle for a 3. They are really angry that he hasnt shown up for the offseason workouts and are afraid of the shape jenkins is in (or not in as the case may be)

Is our holder and 4th reciever. And he's done a mighty fine job given playing time.

I'm not sure I'd want to lose that.

I'd trade Klop, Byrd and a 5th if Jenkins is healthy.

I'd give them Bennett and a 4th. This is a very deep WR draft, and it seems like WR makes a more immediate impact than a rookie DT.
