    Talking Let's Begin Now...

Alright, let's get it out of the way now. What is your excuse for why the defense will once again finish near the bottom of the league?

You got out of the pre-season game that the defense will be terrible again. I guess that the Cowboys should hang it up for the year too because the Chargers without Tomlinson made their d look like swiss chees so I guess we can eliminate the Rams and the Cowboys from playoff contention because of 1 pre-season game.

I think it is the fault of that goofy little monkey pictured in your Avatar.

Either that or too many polls on the board at one time.

Yeah, I'm thinking the last two seasons coupled with what looked more of the same last night might have had something to do with it too...

Its easy to excuse poor preseason play by pointing out that the players are just getting used to playing again or for the first time, but the same was true for the Titans and they beat the holy hell out of our D with their 3-5th strings. I think its ok to be concerned.

Hey, I think you might have a point. There was at least one team on that field.

The Patriots played without their best player and Kyle Boller made their d look terrible. Maybe they should pack it in too. One pre-season game and it's already over.

Really? 102 yds, No TDs, and an interception? We've really lowered our criteria about what making someone look terrible is... Oh, I see, it must have been the 3 turnovers they forced that made them look terrible. Or maybe is was holding them to 204 total net yards you're looking at. Oh no, wait- it must have been the 10 minute differential the Pats held in the TOP battle. Yep, that must it.

He threw 4 incompletions FOUR. He methodically drove the Ravens down the field on their d. They had to settle for a fg but he was making it look easy I watched it I just didnt go look at the stats. How about the Cowboys d against the Chargers without Tomlinson how did they look. Why are you a Rams fan all you do is bash them it gets old. You couldnt pull one positive thing from that game??? I have some advice quit watching them you see only the bad and it's pre-season.

So, you're saying the Patriots buckled down and shut them out when it counted, right? And their second string pretty much held them to 100 yds the rest of the game. They held the Ravens to less yards in the game than we did in some quarters. I still don't see how that made them look terrible?

As for the Cowboys? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that they had a god-awful defense for the past five years? I wasn't aware that mediocre running backs have looked like hall of famers against their defense for god knows how long. I wasn't aware that the Cowboys have been unable to put any pressure on opposing QBs for the past decade. Oh that's must be the difference- it was one preseason game that they looked bad in. It's been the better part of a decade that we have been laughing stocks on defense and continued that lovely trend last night.
