Linehan denies severity of Hill's injury, Incognito is out, & Pisa is doubtful
Injury bug bites again; Tye Hill breaks bones in his back
September 14, 2007
Belleville News-Democrat
The Rams will be without yet another key cog as cornerback Tye Hill will be sidelined at least two weeks after suffering multiple broken bones in his back during a collision with a teammate during practice on Thursday.
Hill, a first-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, was injured near the end of practice. The media is allowed to watch only the first 30 minutes practice.
Rams coach Scott Linehan said initial reports that Hill will miss 4-6 weeks aren’t true.
“He will be out this game, and we’ll go week to week after that,’’ Linehan said. “Any reports about him being out 4-6 weeks are false.’’
Linehan said Hill’s injury is similar to injury sustained by wide receiver Dane Looker in the preseason. Looker missed two games.
“Transverse processes is the official name of the area with a couple of cracks,’’ Linehan said. “The best-case scenario is that you’re probably looking at two games. We’re not dealing in worst-case scenarios. We’re going to go week to week.’’
Linehan said Hill was injured when he ran into free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe.
“He was going for a ball, trying to knock it down,’’ Linehan said. “He left his feet and O.J. was breaking toward the ball. Tye kind of whipped around the receiver and landed into O.J.’s hip.’’
Lenny Walls will start in place of Hill, while rookie Jonathan Wade will fill Walls’ role in the Rams’ nickel pass defense.
The Rams already are playing their first four games without starting cornerback Fahkir Brown, who was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Linehan said right guard Richie Incognito (high ankle sprain) likely would be listed as out and linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa (ankle sprain) listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report for their game against the San Francisco ***** on Sunday.
Linehan said wide receiver Drew Bennett (quadriceps muscle) looked better on Friday than he has all week, and likely would play against the *****.
Linehan confirmed that Millford Brown would start at right tackle and Claude Terrell would start at right guard. Adam Goldberg will be the backup at both positions.

We are getting beat up big time, Hill, Pace, Pisa, Richie...
We are out without our starting CBs. Hopefully Alex Smith looks as bad as he did last week...

Unreal. Is it normal for these guys to have contact practice during the season?

this is not happening...... what did we do wrong
orlando, pisa, hill , cogs........ bullll
we better not make alexis look great, but we will be seriously screwed this week. we need guys to step up. lenny wallls makes me shake worse than bartell. wade is raw, but i would like him to see some action....we really need our offense to be huge this week, take some more shots downfield. if we dont win, our season is near done. yes it seems early, but geeeshe look at theze injuries.Last edited by prof22693; -09-14-2007 at 09:01 PM.

I admit things are going poorly. But I am becoming sick of Pisa always being injured. In know the guy is a warrior and he fights to stay on the field but the truth of the matter is he is made if glass and can't be counted on to start any amount of consecutive games.
