So let’s sum up the Rams’ predicament in a nutshell:

They are 0-2 this season after back-to-back home losses. Games at Tampa Bay and
Dallas loom next on the schedule -- and both teams just scored impressive Week
    2 victories.

Injuries have eradicated Rams tackles Orlando Pace and Todd Steussie. NFL
suspensions have sidelined cornerback Fakhir Brown and defensive tackle Claude
Wroten. Guard Richie Incognito (high ankle sprain) and cornerback Tye Hill
    (back injury) are sidelined, too.

    All are sorely missed.

Quarterback Marc Bulger absorbed terrible beatings two weeks in a row. His ribs
(and some other body parts) are aching. His blockers appeared befuddled in the
face of aggressive ***** blitzes. He was fortunate to walk off the field
    without help Sunday.

The Rams found more ways to beat themselves, especially with untimely
turnovers. In Sunday’s 17-16 loss to the *****, Torry Holt fumbled a ball
through the end zone while trying to gain additional yardage on a red-zone
catch. Kicker returner Dante Hall fumbled a punt in heavy traffic; a fair catch
would have been far more prudent.
Let's not forget to add that Claude Terrell is having stupidity issues, Barron has had to switch positions, a guy named Milford Brown is taking significant snaps, and Pisa Tinoisamoa is out indefinitely. None of these nor the things Gordon listed are Scott Linehans fault.

Let's face it, Linehan has had way more than his fair share of obstacles and bad luck to deal with since day one this season. Sure he's made some questionable game decisions, but IMO they are just that, questionable, meaning they are open to reasonable deabate. The players all seem to back up what he's doing and have been defending those questionable decisions to a man.

Things look bad, but Linehan still has the respect and support of his team and is managing to remain competitive against a great deal of adversity. I know many probably won't agree, but I think Linehan deserves the benefit of the doubt.

    Why?

Does a head coach, who has never held that position for any other team, automatically receive the "benefit of the doubt" upon being hired? Or does he have to earn it? If the latter is the case, what has Linehan done to earn it?

Linehan has been battling adversity since day one last year. He hasn't had anything close to resembling a reasonably complete team to work with, yet remains competitive. Above all else, he has not lost his team. His players, like last year are supporting him, defending him and remain confident that things will turn around.

I don't think Linehan should be on the hot seat just yet. It's only his second year. I think you have to give a coach at least 3.
The thing that is killing me is that on a team with Holt, Bruce, Bulger, and Jackson, we can't score touchdowns. I just don't understand it...
I understand the O-Line is in shambles, but we were having these problems at the beginning of last year and with our starters in the pre-season this year with a line that was doing fine.

There may be some truth in there, but I'm having a hard time finding an example of a game that the Rams won under Linehan in which the reaction was "Wow! Linehan really outcoached them!" In fact, since the Rams have been coached by Linehan, there really have been virtually no games in which the Rams beat a team that was clearly more talented, or truly put an opposing team away before the fourth quarter (last year's finale against Minnesota may be the one exception).

Avenger, that picture sums it all up for me with Linehan, the blank -what the hell am I doing look, that he has in that picture,I really can't say if he is a good or bad coach,he just seems to be overwhelmed with the whole thing.

Well, Linehan's first game as a head coach resulted in a win against Denver, who played in the AFC Championship game the year before. I think he deserves some credit there.

I can understand frustration with the Rams under Linehan, but I just can't get by the fact that he has never had a chance to work with a complete team, other than perhaps in that first game against Denver. The bad luck that has been hanging over the team the last few years is in no way his fault, yet he has held things together.

    He has?

The Rams have lost 9 of their last 13 games under Linehan.

We could have very easily had a Choaktown Faider type season in 2006. 8-8 last year, with a mathematical chance to make the playoffs going into the last game of the season I believe. And this year is far from over. Just ask his players.

Ahh, the media. Can't live with them, can't live without 'em!

No. Absolutely not. I'll wait till the next game is over at Tampa before I even begin to question Coach Linehan's job.

What's to understand when 3 of the 4 mentioned were part of the reason for the 2 losses.

    FUMBLES???
