List of ’08 opponents is complete for Rams

    By Jim Thomas
    ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
    12/30/2007

No matter what happens Sunday against Arizona, the Rams will finish last in the NFC West for the first time since 1998.

As a result, the Rams’ entire slate of opponents has been determined for the 2008 season. Besides playing home and away games against each of their NFC West rivals, the Rams’ schedule has a decidedly eastern tilt. The Rams will play the entire NFC East and the entire AFC East next year.

The only games determined by the Rams’ division finish are one against the NFC North and one against the NFC South. Atlanta is assured of a last-place finish in the South, so the Rams will play the Falcons. Similarly, Chicago is assured of a last-place finish in the North, so the Rams will play the Bears.

(Chicago and Detroit could both finish 7-9 in the North if the Bears win Sunday and the Lions lose. But under that scenario, Detroit still finishes ahead of Chicago in the standings because the Lions swept the season series with the Bears.)
Here’s how the Rams’ 2008 schedule breaks down in terms of home and away foes:

Home: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, New York Giants, Buffalo, Miami, Chicago.

Away: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Washington, New England, New York Jets, Atlanta.
The dates and times of each game won’t be determined until next spring.

If there was one game I could pick to win on that schedule, it'd be the Pats. I can't stand them

6 games against 2007 playoff teams, 5 if the Redskins don't make the playoffs this season.

depending on when they play those east coast games, the Rams could be playing a few cold, nasty weather games next season, but on a good note many games I will be a short car drive from, looking forward to next season already.

As always it'll depend upon the schedule, however, knowing the schedule makers, I have a good feeling about the Pats game weather-wise. We won't be considered a contender, so they'll try to get the game out of the way early(probably first 5 weeks).

The next worst possible weather situation is at the Jets, but as we saw last night in the Pats/Giants game, even a last week game in Jersey isn't necessarily bad. I'm not too worried about the away schedule in terms of cold-weather, it's the teams that worry me.

Wow, thats a last place schedule? 16-0 New England on the road. Washington on the road,Philly on the road, I could see us easily losing those 3 games. Plus we play Dallas and the Gints at home. Not to mention of course we have to play Seattle twice. Hope the team stays healthy because next years schedule to me looks tougher than this years was.

That's the fun of the current schedules. The only difference between us and the Seahags are that we get Atlanta and Chicago and they get the Bucs and Green Bay.
