A little perspective on preseason rankings

Quick; off the top of your head; no research, just gut reaction......

.....rank the NFC North and the AFC West.

Okay, you got'em ranked? Do your rankings....

.....have the Lions and Chiefs ranked last in their respective divisions?

Yea, me too. Why? Well, because that's how they finished last year, and so I figure that's probably where they'll finish this year.

My point is when non-Rams fans look at the NFC West, they will do the exact same thing. Look at last year and assume something similar. They take no deeper a look at the Rams than we do their team. So why get wrapped up in preseason rankings?

Rank us last. We've owned it for two years in a row, so it's not like we don't deserve it. Plus, if you're ranked last, no way to underperform, right?

We know the '09 team is better than the '07 or '08 version. And most importantly, the Rams organization knows it. That's the one and only thing that matters at this point........I want residents of Rams Park to know how good the Rams are, not a bunch of poop-flinging monkeys in Bristol, CT or elsewhere.

Just something to think about while we wait for the season to begin.
