Little to be trade?
Hey, Mike. What do you think are the chances the Broncos pull the trigger on a trade for a difference-maker on defense? We are all kidding ourselves if we think a defense this bad is going deep into the playoffs!
-- Todd N., Salt Lake City
Todd - The trading deadline is Oct. 14, so the Broncos have two weeks to make a significant deal -- which rarely occurs in the NFL. Upstairs at Dove Valley, the Broncos talk about everybody so I'm sure they have held at least cursory discussions regarding St. Louis Rams defensive end Larry Little, who had two sacks Sunday against Buffalo.
But Little, who's about to turn 34, runs counter to the Broncos' overall plan. You're right about this year: The Broncos can't go all the way with this defense. But because their overall roster is so young, the front office will remain mindful staying in position to make a serious Super Bowl run by 2010. I'd rather the Broncos continue to invest playing time in Moss and Tim Crowder than hinder their development by bringing in a veteran.
I think they mean Leonard little, but makes sense to the rebuilding effort.

Hi, my name is Larry Little and i approve this message.

Re: Little to be trade?
Little was one of the personnel sparks that ignited this defensive effort against the Bills. Barring a ridiculously good offer, I think the Rams would be crazy to trade that away right now.

Re: Little to be trade?
Unless it's a first, I would pass....

Re: Little to be trade?
It appears that whoever wrote that didn't even think it was going to happen. This isn't going to happen.

Re: Little to be trade?
Little is still sick... see play first half sunday for evidence. I want to keep this guy around I think he is important as a leader on this team that looks to dump most of its extra load this offseason.

Re: Little to be trade?
Instead of Little, how about we give them a sixth to take Chavous off our hands?
-
Re: Little to be trade?
I'd gladly trade them Larry Little. That guy borrowed my ladder a month ago and still hasn't brought it back; not to mention his dog is always barking.............hmm, what's that? LEONARD Little? Not LARRY Little? Oh well then, NO. I wouldn't trade LEONARD Little.

Re: Little to be trade?
Sounds like a pretty good idea; trade away our best defensive player.
-
Re: Little to be trade?
This doesn't look particularly likely. Mid-season baseball style trades just don't happen very often in the NFL. That said, Leonard Little probably is the one defensive player on our team with substantial trade value, and he is unlikely to be around more than two or three more years. If someone did call asking about him, the price shouldn't be anything less than a first rounder.

Re: Little to be trade?
At first glance, I too would find it difficult to trade Little. However, he's 34. How many productive years do you think he has left? If we are truly making a re-building effort, and we can get decent value, I'd trade him. Does anyone really think we're going anywhere this season, or even next season? I think we'd be lucky to win 5-6 games this season. If we win 8-9 next season, I'd be happy with the progress. What is the chance that Little would even be with the team 2-3 yrs from now?
It would be tough to see him go. But, if there's value...well, you know what all the players say, "It's a business."

Re: Little to be trade?
Being in Denver, I have not heard about this. Does not mean their is no discussion about it. Shanahan is real tight lipped about this kind of thing. That being said it is not in the papers or on the Bronco boards or in the local news. I would very very suprised because Denver is in a get young movement as well.
Besides I thought we got rid of Linesham partly because of dumb personnel moves.

Re: Little to be trade?
I truly doubt we'll get any serious offers for Little, and barring any "extremely beneficial" offers, I hope we don't get rid of him. I truly believe that Little has rediscovered himself as a person and not only can play a part of this defense for the next couple of years, but he also has the ability to help mentor some of the younger guys we have now.

Re: Little to be trade?
Broncos beat writer Mike Klis suggests that the team could make a play for Rams DE (Rotoworld) Leonard Little before the Oct. 14 trade deadline.
Analysis: Klis says he's "sure (the Broncos) have held at least cursory discussions" about a deal. If the Rams were actually capable of using it wisely, they would be silly to not consider moving Little for a third- or fourth-round pick.
Got this off a fantasy football site. Not sure who to credit for it.......
3rd or 4th round pick? HMMMM

Re: Little to be trade?
I wouldn't deal him for anything less than a 2nd round pick. If someone wants him then make them pay, we are holding the cards.
