Loney retained, Baggett hiring confirmed by St. Louis Rams

    By Jim Thomas

At least one member of the Rams’ 2008 coaching staff is coming back in 2009. The club confirmed on Tuesday that offensive line coach Steve Loney is returning as part of Steve Spagnuolo’s coaching staff. Loney, 56, joined the Rams just last season and had time left on his original contract with the club.

Meanwhile, the Rams confirmed that Charlie Baggett is joining the staff as wide receivers coach, replacing Henry Ellard. Baggett, 55, spent the last two seasons at the University of Washington, but has 10 years of NFL experience coaching wide receivers, most recently at Miami (2005-2006).

although Loney didnt seem to do that good a job last year maybe aother year with the men in the trench and with some additions to the playing group he will be able to turn things around...
he must have impressed Spags in some way with his ideas for improvement, cause i dont think for one minute Spags will just have seen last years performances and say.."hey that O-line in St.lou were good last year..."

he must have just had the right "team first" mentality that spags requires.

Hmm...his line did a pretty pathetic job.

Who knows, maybe if we revamp the line, his coaching will show. I'm hoping.

I'm not agreeing with you guys . . . by the end of the season and I even would say after the pats game, the OL played "decent" given the "talent" we had availble to play (please refresh my memory, 2-3 starters end up on IR?)
