WR, O line, & then RB.
too many top flight wideouts to not address the position for the next 10 years.
I say WR's, they did ok for one game, can they do alot better, for the rest of the season, including the TE's.
i went with wr, i think this is our biggest need right now followed closely by an elite pass-rusher at dt or re. it sure would be nice to be able to fill one of these needs through free agency, there are quality players to be had at the top of this draft at wr and along the d-line.
I say we:
Rd 1: A.J Green (preferably, or any of the other 3 big prospect WRs)
Rd 2: Outside Linebacker to roam the middle of the field with James Laurinaitis
Rd 3: Running Back
Rd 4: Defensive Tackle
I'd still go with wide receiver, though I think the defensive line and back-up running back are close behind.
There are 16 games in a season...a long campaign to get to the play offs and usually those winning teams making to the playoffs with the fewest injuries at critical possition enjoy a great advantage.
So I picked RB...last weeks injury to S. Jackson proved out my concern. I wanted a strong "change up" RB at the start of the season to share the load and add another dimension to the running game. More without a solid number two with a rookie QB nightmare senerios come to mind.
I still think the OL plays to inconsistant, but at the still possition RB troubles me the most
Right now, it's got to be linebacker or defensive line. At linebacker, we have Laurinaitis, but I'm not sure we have anybody else that can work for the future. I don't Larry Grant is real great, and Diggs isn't here for the future. Vabora is probably not good enough to start. On the line, neither Hall or Robbins are available for the long term. We might want an upgrade at DT in place of Ryan or Gibson.
No way WR is the priority, will never understand the consenual desire to harp over finding a, quote, unquote, "#1" receiver ....
It's not even in the top 4 ....
OLB, DT, DE, a blazing RB .... In no particular order!
This is an interesting post. A few questions for you if you don't mind. I am also starting to question the philosophy of having to absloutely take a WR at all costs.
1.) Would you advocate taking an OLB in the first round if we are picking somewhere in the top 15?
2.) Why do you have DT over a pass rushing DE? Don't you think getting a book end to compliment Long is a more crucial need than DT?
WHAT SAY YE?
I think this years draft goes
As of right now I'd rank them as follows:
3. Backup RB
Reasons for my order: DE and WR would be higher, but I like what I'm seeing out of some of our younger players at each respective position. I see potential there. At OLB, I see very little to no potenital. DT is crucial to any defense, so it gets a de facto top-3 ranking. Backup RB / Change of pace back is a glaring need, but I too think SJ39 has too much left in the tank to make a ~30% of the time player higher than the two listed above it.
