Looking forward to Rams final reg. game @ Seattle

In preparing for the Rams final regular season game Vs. Sawks next Sunday, I found this piece of latest news on Hasselbeck. Sunday evening, Dec. 26.

Carroll: Hasselbeck has 'unusual' hip injury

In his post-game press conference Sunday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll described Matt Hasselbeck's hip injury as "unusual."

Carroll used the same term for a foot injury suffered by Big Mike Williams earlier this season, and he missed the next three games. Carroll has already ruled Hasselbeck out of practice all this week, and the Seahawks will prepare Charlie Whitehurst to start against the Rams. It looks like Seattle won't have its starting QB for a game that will decide the winner of the NFC West.

How about us? Anyone know of Rams injuries after today's win at home?

I don't remember any Rams getting dinged up, but no Hasselbeck will be an interesting development. Whitehurst didn't exactly light it up in his time today and has been inconsistent this year. I'm likin' our chances more and more.

It all comes down to one
    By Clare Farnsworth

Posted 1 hour ago [Sun. evening, Dec. 27]

...Will the Seahawks have Hasselbeck for the decisive game? The player coordinator Jeremy Bates labeled “our best offensive player” last week injured his left hip while scoring a 1-yard touchdown on the team’s second possession. Hasselbeck is scheduled to have a MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury and how long it might sideline him.

“We’ll rest him all week and see what happens,” coach Pete Carroll said.

Hasselbeck said he injured “one or two muscles” in his hip. It happened as he was making the move to get into the end zone. He said he first hurt the hip against the San Diego Chargers in Week 3 and aggravated it against the Cardinals in Arizona and again in the game against Carolina – all games the Seahawks won.

“But it was never as bad as today,” he said. “I’ll get the MRI, get it treated and we’ll go from there. Luckily I don’t have to do anything until Wednesday.”

Yes, no Hassle next week would be interesting! Whitehurst seemed out of synch today in Tampa: 11 of 18 for 66 yds over 3 quarters.

As for the Rams, I'm wondering if Hoomanawanui (picture) will be available. Seems to me we still need more TE support but that's just the current game plan / design. Apart from blocking, Fells did contribute with three catches today. Kind of wish Bajema and Fells would be more involved in some routes.

That's very good news, inexperience with poor support equals a good day for us. We do a good job harassing young quarterbacks. Also saw Okung get injured today and not sure on his status. Hopefully our D-Line remains healthy all week because we need to unleash the beast again on Seattle to shut that crowd up.

I hate to admit it, but I don't think there is a chance in Hades that Seattle wins this game. I'm in awe that Pete Carroll was able to manufacture 6 wins out of the roster we have, but whatever mojo he was able to muster earlier this year is gone. We are 2-7 in our last nine games and we've lost by at least 15 in all nine losses this year. Seriously.

I hope we can pull it off, but should the Rams win the West just do us all a favor and silence the media by giving a good show in the playoffs.

Awesome, but even with Hassleback playing we murdered them earlier this season.

we would host game vs either Saints or Packers. I like our chances at home. I'm sure the Rams have a lot more to play for than just pride... the NFC West future hangs in the balance!

Eugene Sims gotta a little dinged up early in our game but came back and played so he should be fine. I hope Michael Hoomanawanui can go aswell. He is an important piece to this offense and only adds to Sam Bradford's choices.

As for Hasselbeck, I'd prefer for him to sit. I would rather play Whitehurst any time of the day. He just doesn't look like he belongs out there. But either QB, lets hit em hard and win this game! Also, lets make the NFC West a good division again soon..

Please list the most likely Rams starters for Wk. 17. It does seem we're looking good on the injury-free report so let's see how the game plan develops offensively and defensively with these players. // Thanks.

STL RAMS @ SEATTLE SAWKS, last game of the regular season. Your starters:

    OFFENSE

    WR: Danny Amendola,
    QB: Sam Bradford
    RB: Steven Jax
    LT:
    LG:
    C:
    RG:
    RT:
    TE:

    DEFENSE

    DT: Fred Robbins,
    DE: Kris Long,
    LBS: James Laurinaitis,
    CBS:
    S:

    KICK RETURN

    Danny Amendola?

    GO RAMS!

it might sound strange but I hope that Uh-Oh doesn't play this week unless we get off to a rocky start. I want him as well rested for the playoffs as he possibly can be.

Nothing gets held back this week. I not only want the Seahawks to lose, I want us to stomp their heads in. We need to go to the playoffs flying high. Barely beating a bad Seattle team is not going to shut people up about the NFC West and will make the Rams look like crap all the way up until the game.

I agree with this. I'm of the opinion that we don't really know what we have in Whitehurst, since Hasselbeck has gotten the vast majority of reps in practice, and there's no telling how the playbook was truncated when Whitehurst went in.

That said, I am not optimistic. So, if the Rams win, and they probably will, then I will seriously hope you do well in the playoffs.
