Looks like its true here at ClanRam
Unless you are a RA RA Fan, you're not going to be welcome.
Well as far as I am concerned, that's changing right now. Members of this board have EVERY right to moan or cheer. What I will not stand for is members castigating those who choose to criticize the Rams. Some members on this board think that that's not allowed here. Well let me put those members right.
YES IT IS. So get over it.
If you want to be a cheerleader, go right ahead
If you want to be a realist, go right ahead.

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
I have been a member since 2004 and this board has never seemed to me like all the members here are RA RA fans. In fact I would say most have high expectation for the Rams and try to hold them too building a great team.
I don't mind any fan telling me my team stinks but if you make a comment without doing any research or without out any effort to support your critic then it's nothing more then an emotional keen jerk reaction.

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
The Rams are on the way to the playoffs... they're just taking the scenic route (you know, the one that will take at least 15 months to travel).
My position on the different types of fans is as follows:
Eternal "Rah-Rah" Optimists: fine by me.
Pure realists: fine by me.
Frustrated pessimists: fine by me.
The only type of poster that I have an issue with is the type who seems to enjoy when the Rams fail. Thankfully, I think there are few of those left around here. If you go to the PD board, though, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
We'll get through this, guys and gals. As the saying goes... there's always next year.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

I am a fan of reasoned discussion, no matter whether it's positive or negative. I certainly don't criticise people for their opinion. However, i will argue with it if i don't agree with it!

We get it Dez, you dont like when the pessimists are challenged in there opinion. If you are trying to protect the minority then maybe you should check and see how many people on this board are calling for the teams head. I have been here for two years and I can safely tell you that the naysayers have always had a louder voice then us optimists.

Can you be a naysayer and an optimist at the same time?

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
I would agree with the original thread. I think there are some who unneccessarily get bent way out of shape if someone expresses disgust, turns off the set or has the audacity to utter a phrase that is uncomplimentary towards the Rams. I have always liked sportscasters, news people and coaches to tell it like it is- not color their judgment with homerism and a "turn that frown upside down" approach. The same holds true with people on the forum. I want to see praise when praise is deserved, but I have no problems with a person just completely going off on a football team that has given us MUCH MORE heartbreak than joy in recent years.

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
When your team wins and theres threads made about how bad the team is directly after ofcourse some fans will be angered by that. This is all about debate right? Yeah, so people will debate about others opinions if they disagree. I thought this was normal...

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
I agree no poster should be castigated for being negative but I also don't think positive posters should be belittled as unrealistic. I don't always succeed but I try to not look at posts as right or wrong but just opinions. Everyone on this board has earned the right to have theirs.

Is there anybody wanting to be an unrealist?

It's not a question of wanting to be a realist (correct/accurate/reasoned), but rather the ability to be so."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Looks like its true here at ClanRam
My Definitions:
Naysayers...Beat down the team sometimes before a game is played but definitely after a loss.
Optimists...Build up the team before and after the game no matter the result.
I would also like to add that cheering for a team that hasn't had a winning season since I can't remember when is very frustrating. GO RAMS!!!
