A lot rides on the next hire...

I know that is an obvious statement but here is my concern for just how important this next season and the decisions Stan will make are.

After 2012 Long, Laurinaitis and Bartell are all free agents.

If we don't make the right hire, turn the ship and show extreme promise... I'm not sure they will resign with this team and take the SJax trail of lifelong suffering.

Those players are a part of a solid foundation but if they go it's a step back that could lead to more bad times and more players leaving as we are trying to bring in talent.

Not trying to be all gloom and doom but 2012 will either head us in the right direction or it will head us towards another lonnnnnnggggggg rebuild.

Technically how long is our "rebuild"? 7 years, 8 years?...

I've never been that big of a Bartell fan.

Some are expecting a Super Bowl appearance next season which is wishful thinking. It will be interesting to hear what kind of promises if any the new regime makes.

Its also important for sam. If the new coaches come in and have 2 or so losing season we will have potentially another new offense for him to learn leading to an alex smith situation. But we will see. And Bartell isnt that good to me either. But this can be turned around quickly with the right people in charge. We are not to far off talent wise, just need some speed on offense/special teams and a headbuster on D.

I will be happy with more a .500 win ratio. We were so close last season.

Well, to be positive, I do not think we are that far off. The direction is firmly in the hands of our owner and as suggested, with right hiring and then talent coordination (draft, FA, UDA) we can easily become an 8-8 team next year with direction headed in right way to become a consistent, winning org once again. We do have key needs that need to be addressed in off season. Stay tuned.
