Macklin, Rams agree to terms

Macklin is a depth signing and can compete with guys like Wade and Bartell for playing time. If he's as bad as some think, then it shouldn't be hard for Wade and Bartell to come out on top of that competition. But this secondary is in need of some veteran experience, even if it's just as a dime defender. I seem to remember having to play a number of guys in our secondary because of injuries a few seasons ago, so adding a fifth CB at minimal cost would make sense. Besides, Macklin may not even make it out of camp, so I don't see anything to get worked up over.

Yep, these types of signings are pretty routine and expected, not only to provide camp bodies, but as insurance for unforseen situations like say, being without both starting corners going into week two of the season.

I'd rather draft our next receiver in the 2nd or 3rd this year. Besides, Caldwell's eyes just plain freak me out. I don't want to have to look at them every week. At least he's not going to be handed a job and will have to compete for one.

I would rather draft his brother Andre caldwell next year. this year we can get someone else. But Not reche.

I'm not getting worked up about this by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm just saying he got whipped alot by the Rams when he was with the Cardinals so let's don't have 50 "great signing" threads either.
