Make Your Greatest Rams Roster (Game)

Saw this on another site, and thought it would be really fun to do.

Here is the list of their rules (for simplicity, let's please not debate who should be worth what -there are a few I definitely disagree with myself).

You have $66 to spend building your roster. Each player costs a certain amount of money to add to your roster. The average player costs 3 dollars (22x3=66) but you can spend up to $5 on a player.

Here is the positional breakdown you need to use to fill your roster:

    QB-1

    OT-2
    OG-2
    C-1
    DE-2

Re: Make Your Greatest Rams Roster (Game)

    Great list

Jim Everett is worth twice what Norm Van Brocklin is? Van Brocklin would bite off Everett's nose and spit it back in his face!

Terry Nelson was our TE for EIGHT YEARS, why can't he be on the list? Actually, I'd rather skip tight end and have Dickerson and Faulk in the backfield. Eric was the better runner, but Faulk could catch and block.

Nolan Cromwell was a safety, not a cornerback

** I can't believe that I have to have two tight ends. Rams coach George Allen said that when you use a two tight end offense you do the opposition a favor. We don't exactly have Kellen Winslow and Ozzie Newsome to pick from.

** Okay, so I'll add Truax and replace Hill with Saffold at OG. I hope these TEs can block, 'cause that's ALL they're gonna get to do.

    QB-Warner $5
    HB-Dickerson $5
    WR-Hirsch/Holt $6
    TE-Cook/Truax $3
    OT-Slater/Pace $9
    OG-Saffold/Harrah $5
    C-Saul $3
    $36
    DE-Deacon Jones/Leonard Little $6
    DT-Rosey Grier/Lamar Lundy $5
    OLB-Ekern/Jim Youngblood $4
    MLB-London Fletcher $3
    CB-Perry,Thomas $5
    S-Aeneas Williams, Elmendorf $7
    $30

Re: Make Your Greatest Rams Roster (Game)

Yeah Cromwell at corner is weird, but I'll roll with it. Here's my squad:

    QB Marc Bulger 3

    RB Marshall Faulk 4

    TE Jared Cook 1
    TE Billt Traux 2

    WR Henry Ellard 1
    WR Torry Holt 4

    OT Jake Long 2
    OT Orlando Pace 4

    OG Adam Timmerman 2
    OG Dennis Harrah 4

    C Rich Saul 3

    30 total offense

    DE Robert Quinn 3
    DE Deacon Jones 5

    DT Rosey Grier 3
    DT Merlin Olsen 5

    LB Jim Youngblood 1
    LB Jim Collins 2

    MLB London Fletcher 3

    CB Dick Lane 4
    CB Nolan Cromwell 5

    S Aenaes Williams 4
    S OJ Atogwe 1

    36 total defense

I chose to focus on defense and looked for great value where I could. I started with what I thought were steals (Atogwe, Ellard as $1, Jake Long as $2, Quinn, Fletcher, Grier at $3.) I knew I had to have Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen too, so I splurged on the two big ticket guys to finish up the d line.

I also wanted to make sure I got Faulk, Pace, and Holt, 3 of my favorite all time Rams. That led to me making some concessions at LB and TE, and selecting Marc Bulger, who in his prime was a very serviceable option at QB for us. He'll have a better offensive line in front of him in this scenario.

I think my receivers and DBs will cover the gaps at TE and LB.

There are great lists so far! But you both skipped the second tight end, the 11th player on offense.
