Manu at FB...
Anyone buying into Manu playing FB?
I don't see it.
He is far from a punishing lead blocker and often seems to avoid making the correct block or a block at all.

Re: Manu at FB...
He's a cream puff. A wuss. A mama's boy. Could have kept the Hammer for a million. sMartz is still trying to prove he can do without a legitimate FB and prove the rest wrong. If ManuMailItIn won't go over the middle for a catch, why should anyone expect him to step up into a hole and deliver unconsciousness to the opponent?

I thought our cutting Goodspeed meant we were ready to see Hedgecock as our starting fullback, not that we were going to move Manumaleuna around as an H-back. Going into 2004, didn't Martz say that it was because of trying to do that that Manu wasn't doing as well at tight end? I could have sworn I remember the Rams trying to do it once, Manu suffering, and then the Rams keeping him at tight end because of it. Now it seems we're trying to do it again. Frankly, I would prefer Goodspeed/Hedgecock at this point.

Re: Manu at FB...
Surely this is just a stop-gap until Martz is comfortable with Hedgerooster. I can't imagine anyone believes that Manu is the long-term answer at FB.

Re: Manu at FB...
I think we should let Hedgecock give it a shot. And I would rather have Goodspeed at FB than Manu. I vote Hedgecock for FB

Re: Manu at FB...
We could dump Manu and bring Stone back for MUCH needed ST help.
Do we really need 3 TE's? NO!
Hedge would be an upgrade.JUST WIN ONE FOR THE FANS

Re: Manu at FB...
hedgecauck probably doesn't have all the plays down, but he should be in there on plays where they've called a timeout, or had a commercial time-out and will be running a play he knows.

Re: Manu at FB...
Manu is too soft and awkward for fullback. Go back to tight end and block big boy...Bring on the Hedgehog!!!

Re: Manu at FB...
I think Manu is going to be used at FB as is needed until Madison is up to speed with the playbook. As noted earlier he will get limited opportunities while learning on the job. This is a hardnosed guy who loves to hit; when he gets to the point where he doesn't have to think and worry about his assignments, he should develop into a devastating lead blocker. He has a mean streak that cannot be taught ... Manu has been here for several years and he doesn't appear to be getting any meaner, and that's being charitable.....
