Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
This final drive was a replay of the Saints drive. Bulger making rediculous decisions. Did he know it was 4th down, or did he seriously think he would be able to rush for 17 yards? He is awful. It is no different then last week, when he threw a checkdown to Jackson with 20 seconds left. I can't wait til we cut this guy. Alot of Rams fans will be like "He played great". "He kept us close". I dont know about you guys, but I want a guy who can WIN and FINISH games. Not keep them close.
That is all.

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
Are you serious?
Did you even watch the game?
That last drive was Setterstrom's fault. Setterstrom got killed by Dockett, which led to Dockett hammering Bulger. Bulger was shaken up after that. A couple plays later, Barron got owned off the edge, which was the 4th down play, and all of Bulger's receivers were tightly covered. Bulger had nowhere to go, nothing to do...
Bulger's timing with his receivers in this game was off, but to blame that last drive on Bulger is ridiculous.

The last play Barron got beat hard while the Cards only rushed 3 and also got a holding penalty that was declined after the fumble. Even if Bulger threw the ball up the play wasn't going to stand.

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
You didn't watch the game huh. The guy got drilled. No time outs left. So he's supposed to get up after being laid out, no breaks, and lead us to a win? Please.
I do agree, we need a new QB, but you can't blame that last drive on Bulger.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
I'm pretty sure Big Bulge was the next best thing to dead on that final drive because of that hit.
I'm not thrilled that he's our QB, but he's also our best shot at winning with our current roster of untalented/unexperienced QBs.
Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
buldger isnt complety at fault. Of his top 3 wideouts coming into the season he has only avery left. he doesnt have the timing down yet with the new guys but he will soon. buldger gives us our best chance to win.
buldger had to scramble on that last play beacuse barron let a man go right passed him. the cardnials dropped 8 men back it pretty hards to complete a pass agiasnt 4 wide recievers agiasnt 8 DB's

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
What a ridiculous argument. Cut bulger? How bout cut gibson for not catching a td pass that lands ON HIS HANDS.
Edit: No i dont think we should cut gibson but the loss is more his fault then bulgers.

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
Gibson had a ton of catchable balls today. At least 2 of them would have been TD's.
Gibson needs to get on sync with Bulger for our passing game to succeed. And Avery is more of an athlete than a receiver. He can make plays with the ball, but his catching skills isn't very good.

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
It's very likely Bulger was concussed on that Dockett sack. No QB is going to be able to just bounce back from that. Bulger's not the best QB in the world, but that last drive was dead the moment Dockett hit him.
As for the recievers, our youth on that unit is the bane of that unit. A veteran receiver likely would have been the difference between victory and defeat today. Shoot, if we had Gibson for more than a month, I doubt he drops some of those passes today. This was only his second NFL game. This miscues are to be expected.

Of course, assuming my amateur diagnosis is correct, some of you may get your wish next week and see a different QB than Bulger. Given what we are starting to know about how long it takes to recover from concussions, Bulger should not play next week.Last edited by PeoriaRam; -11-22-2009 at 08:26 PM. Bulger is good for now. I like what we got in him. It showed today that with a little protection and some half good receivers this offense will get by. I think he is the least of our problems right now.

Re: Marc Bulger cant be cut soon enough...
Gibson might yet turn out to be a decent player for the Rams, but today was not his finest hour. He lost sight of an end zone fade route in the 4th qtr. and didn't even get his hands on the ball, despite getting separation from the d-back. He had a shot at a second, albeit underthrown ball in the end zone that a better receiver would have probably caught. He jumped up and down like an idiot crying for a penalty flag on a play that when shown in replay revealed he wasn't touched at all. He fell down on a perfectly thrown 15 yard out mid-way through the 4th qtr. which would have given the Rams a first down on the drive. And on at least three separate occasions he was on a completely different page than Bulger, going in the opposite direction of the ball.
Those thinking Gibson is going to be some kind of savior better recalibrate your expectations.
