    Re: Mark Clayton

Rams acquired WR Mark Clayton from the Ravens in exchange for future late-round "considerations."

The Ravens did well to get anything for Clayton, who was going to be cut before Week 1. He's suddenly on the fantasy radar in St. Louis. Laurent Robinson did little to distinguish himself as the supposed "No. 1" in camp, ending it with a mid-foot injury. Clayton will take time to learn the Rams' West Coast offense, but he's a player to monitor. Sam Bradford is coming along quickly, and Clayton may already be the team's top talent at outside receiver.

Mark Clayton finds a home in St. Louis

will get a chance to throw to another Oklahoma product, even if it's a receiver he never played with in college.

Sam BradfordThe Ravens sent wideout Mark Clayton to the Rams for "late-round considerations" according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN. We like the move for St. Louis, if only because the Bradford has the least impressive wide receiver group in the league. Clayton became available after T.J. Houshmandzadeh signed with Baltimore.

Clayton isn't a great starter, but he's more reliable than Laurent Robinson, who was slated to be the team's "No. 1" receiver. Clayton also helps solve the Rams' significant depth problem.

Robinson, Clayton, and Danny "White Chocolate" Amendola figure to be the team's top three wide receivers Sunday against the Cardinals.

We scoff at Houshmanzadeh but more than happy to take on Clayton?

Housh wouldn't sign with us, he wanted to go to a winner.

Pretty much. I live in Baltimore and I've seen Clayton play since he was drafter. I hope to go he shows some of the skill that he had in college in STL, but he has been a bust so far. Most recently the dropped pass on 4th down in New England that cost Baltimore the regular season game last year.

Rams tried to get TJ as well as the Raiders, Eagles, and Redskins. TJ chose to sign with the Ravens.

The question in the quote was rhetorical and response to the winner comment about Housh, but aside from that, I agree with everything there.

There's a reason why the Ravens were so desperate to retain an over the hill Derrick Mason last time round, and it just smacks of desperation and lack of ambition from FO.

I very seriously doubt the Rams went after TJ. Not worth the trouble, and isn't value added in my opinion. Very overrated WR ...

It will take Clayton weeks to learn this offense. He could be buried by then if a couple of the WR's perform well ...

I love the rumors that the Rams are down on Laurent Robinson after a few preseason games. He was quite impressive in his limited action last year ...

Just like rumors I saw on another board that the Rams were going to cut Clifton Ryan ...
