Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
wow apparently he passed a physical with us, was kinda sad when we didn't sign him right away especially with how him and Sam clicked in those summer workouts. Glad he's back up to speed and back as a Ram.
Right? All I have to say is our coaching staff and FO is making the WR competetion outrageously better this year!(and hard) I smell this is the end of DX on our team and Mr. Pettis is going to the PS.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Interesting. I thought he might be brought back at some point after the season started, but I'm surprised its this early. So what does that do to the WR cutdown??? Are the Rams keeping more than 6??? Is someone on the trading block???
Hmmmm....
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Who's gone now? DX is still the leader for the goodbye, but maybe Pettis is going to the PS? Gibby or Gilyard traded? Avery cut? We will see.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Is this a sign that the bottom half of our receivers is not impressing McDeSpags at all? I mean your not going to sign Clayton to turn around and cut him so...
Amendola
Avery
Clayton
Walker
Gibson
are pretty much a lock in my opinion. Even if we keep 7 we still have to cut two of the four.
Salas
Pettis
Gilyard
DX
Honestly the only player we have I would consider having much of any trade value is Amendola... and I really hope we don't send him anywhere.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Blazer says Clayton might start the year on the PUP so that might buy another receiver a little time.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Id almost given up on Clayton being resigned, very pleased. I feel a lot more confident with him in the WR core, when he comes back.? Ive read about rumours of a trade pending, mentioning Avery.?

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
Great news! I can't believe we have Avery, Walker, and Mark Clayton running 100% healthy. Last year before the middle of the season, we didn't have them. Now we do. Can't wait to see more touchdowns from the Rams this season.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
This receiver drama just keeps getting more and more interesting. Who knows what this means and what the Rams are thinking as far as who they keep. I've still got to believe the roster will carry 7 WR's, there is just too many potential injuries waiting to happen. Pettis and DX should probably be a bit concerned.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
well now that hes back, this is how i see wr picture:
Clayton
Walker
Avery
Gibson
Amendolla
Salas
Pettis
thats if we keep 7, if we keep 6 then pettis to PS.
Unless Mardy or DX has a monster game thursday i dont think theyll be back now, and giving up on a recent 3rd drafty whos had a month to practice is not gonna happen.
yes mardy is a great ST player, but unless pettis is moved to PS, then he aint making it, and btw, having recievers of Gibson, Amendolla, Clayton, Avery and Sims-Walker seems almost beastly for us. unless we trade someone thats how i see it.
p.s getting rid of Amendolla is such a horrible idea. if they trade him im going to be pissed.

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
If he's not 100% yet, putting him on the PUP makes perfect sense. It gives Clayton close to two more months to get right, and gives the Rams the perfect "insurance policy" in the event that they lose a WR during the first six weeks of the season.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Mark Clayton re-signed with the Rams
I am absolutely THRILLED about this news! Mark Clayton is one of the few legitimate "NFL" caliber wide receivers the Rams had period! As long as MSW stays on the roster (and he will) I'm cool with who gets cut loose and who stays, the poistion still needs serious love as far as I'm concerned.
