Re: martz

With all due respect, let me make this easy for you. Those that like Mike Martz do not want him fired, those that hate him do. I doubt few, if any opinions have changed. Maybe you should ask this question at the end of the season.

Re: martz

He didn’t fumble on the 5 yard line. He didn’t miss the field goal. He wasn’t the one losing every jump ball in the secondary.

Keep Martz.

For all you that want Martz fired, fine, but then who would you hire? Bill Callahan?

Nick, even though you and I are on opposite sides of the fence on this, I agree with you. I think he lost the game for us today, but I can't see him being fired now. If we still suck at the end of the year? Off with his head... For now? He is OUR coach.

Every time you watch a Rams game on TV whether its on CBS, Fox, ABC, ESPN, Sky or whatever the commentary team always point out that when the Rams are one dimensional, IE they don't run, they don't win.

The sad things is that anyone who has watched the Rams regularly in recent years KNEW before the game even started that the Rams would lose and lose heavily, and of course they did.Martz has been in the job six years now and the team is going backwards. They're not even a shadow of the team they were at Superbowl XXXVI 4 years ago, or even the tean that reached the divisional playoffs a couple of seasons ago.

The who would you get questions are a little ridiculous unless you are that up on the game that you know every College coach and NDL assistant there is. Where would the Dolphins be now, if they had worried who to get?

I've been down this road a time or two in my day. Do your self a favor and stop listening to the media. Trust me on this one cause it will save you from posting things you will regret in the future. You can ask any of the long timers on this board how many times I stupidly asked for Martz's head. Look around the league. There are teams playing good one week and bad the next. It's called parity. We have to much invested in Martz to give up on him. If you want a coach to come in and take this team over and turn it into a running football team then maybe your new as a spectator because this mike Martz team under any type of conservative coach would get crushed week after week. It is Martz's aggressiveness that keeps this team competitive. If the rams do make the playoffs they will have just as good a shot at going all the way then the next team does if not better. As you know, this team can put some points on the board and baring an onslaught of injuries they could be the most feared offense by seasons end. The defense is going to get better, trust me they will. Finally; I don't want to be tied into a 5 year contract with a coach that gets a 7 point lead then protects it by running the football. Blah! Yuck! Sorry but I'm spoiled and I won't go there without kicking and screaming. Keep Martz, watch the game with the sound off and do away with the media.

Re: martz

There is a twisted little part of me that would like to see Martz fired for one reason.......so those that want him fired could see how horrible this team would be without Martz. A new coach will mean at least 3 losing seasons as he re-tools this team. There aren't other coaches doing what Martz does (which is probably one reason he gets so much criticism). So another coach will either use their style with Martz personnel (ie. round block...square hole) or the team will be dismantled and fashioned after the new coach (ie. 2 or 3 years of personnel changes, at best). Either way, if you want a new coach, expect a return to the 90's.

Re: martz

Usually, I get totally depressed after a game like that one. The bad part is, I am starting to get used to it. Now, I am telling myself that this is going to be a season just like last year - hoping that the wheels don't come off entirely, and cheering my team (and coach) on.

I am true fan of the team and always want them to win.

But, so many teams that you think are going in the right direction - are in the same boat. The good teams know how to win throughout the season. The 'super' teams, know how to win with heart.

It always comes down to who wants it bad enough.

Hopefully, the RAMS will start getting hungry.

Re: martz

I can't blame it all on mike martz, but lets be real, a reverse pitch at the goal-line, What a bone -head. We had the momentum, we should have ran it in. We can not afford to lose to the "chickenHawks" this week or it's going to be a long season guaranteed. Mad mike this week at least , this one's for you !!!!:moon:
