Martz should he stay or should he go?

Should the Rams bring back Martz next year, as head coach offensive coordinator is not an option in case you are attempted to say that.

No one can ride the fence on this poll its either Stay or Go.

To avoid too much controversy lets try to limit responses to stay or go.

Stay - of all the names floating around out there for replacements, none have the record that Mike does.

I think his time is up. I also think we need A LOT of help on defence so we need a defensive minded coach. Just my oppinion though, Martz did a hell of a good job on our Offense though, so I'm not complaining.

    Mike should stay.

You so called Rams fan who thinks he should go are spoiled.
    You are like whining kids.
He led the Rams to playoffs in just about every season he coached and the Superbowl as OC. Get serious, the Rams would not have won the Superbowl w/o him. The Rams would have probably gone 7-9 in 99 w/o Martz.

Do you really think Vermeil would have come up with those ingenious plays; shifting of the lines, motions all over the place before the snap confusing the defense. Setting a receiver in motion to tip the defense hand. Empty backfield, full backfield. Receiver backfield. So many plays in that playbook Get serious. I highly doubt Vermeil has that ingenuity.

Granted Martz need to pull a Vermeil (in his last season) and cry and give up some control. But to shove him to the door for what he has done and will do for the Rams.

    For the true Rams fans:

    Remember the sayings: The Laaaambbbss!!!
    The St. Louis Laaammmbbbs!!
    Silence of the Laaammbbbss!!

Get rid of Martz, and you will hear those sayings again.

Re: Martz should he stay or should he go?

Martz is a better HC than whoever replaces him. Having said that, he needs to go. Not because the team will be better without him, but because there will never be harmony in this organization with Shawgmunt and Martz together. Shawgmunt ain't going anywhere since they run the team.

If Martz stays it will be an early grave for him. For his health, I think he needs to move on.

I'm really split on this one. However, I think that it is a forgone conclusion that he is technically already gone. I agree with HUb that there will never be any harmony in this organization if he stays. Unfortunatley, his replacement may set us back in the short run with a complete overhaul (or even the long run depending upon the direction he goes). I can't help but notice the eery silence or lack of committment to Martz from "Shawgmunt" concerning his desire to return. This tells me that is all water under the bridge now and the Martz era may be over whether we want to face it or not...

That is a good Point/argument.Lets keep Martz through next year and see what happens.
Teams go through these problems,Lack of cap money to keep a team strong always causes alot of stress in an org.
Look at the Steelers, they didnt fire Cowher, they stuck with him and their strong again.
The colts have been up and down(mostly up)But Dungy is still there, because his front office believes in him,and the same with the Eagles,Hawks, and Saints.
The front office needs to get behind Martz and work through the problems. If they can do that we can contend for a Superbowl again.
