Mascot Question
Ok guys and gals, the costume is paid for. The maker and I have hammered out a majority of the design concepts and everything, but I need some input from the fans of the team since you will be the ones seeing this if it is picked up by the team.
Originally, I had pictured him as being highlighted facially with blue and gold. not a full face paint look, but something that makes him look a little tougher. Then I came upon the idea of what about having his face be just a little colored and over that, he would wear a mask that would be something along the lines of what folks in the WWF (old school WWE ya young punks). He would wear one per home game and at some point of the game, he would take the mask off and toss it into the crowd. Someone pointed out that that could be too much for the face/head. So I thought, what about a dewrag thing, similar to the mask in that each one would be differently designed that he could toss.
So the question is, what would you say would be better in this? The head/facial coloration, the wrestler like mask or the dewrag?

What's a dewrag?

Re: Mascot Question
It's a bandana thing on the head. Like the underarmour skullcaps that most players wear, but these are made out of bandanas. Think macho man randy savage.

Re: Mascot Question
How about a RAMS football helmet with the mascot's horns sticking out of it on both sides?

That is an idea, but wouldn't the horns be redundant if he is wearing a helmet? I look at mascots as something that should be something you can connect with. No, I am not saying, hey look, a deep, profound connection. I mean for kids, they like being able to look at a face and see the eyes and such. In general, you lose that when you cover the face and all that, which you would with a helmet. So I'd like to keep him somewhat facially visible. Which is why at the most, a mask would be it. But even that is pushing it, which is why I looked at the dewrag. But in the end, depending on how people vote (please vote) I have a feeling it will be the dew rag, the coloration or just keeping it simple.

Re: Mascot Question
I kinda like the dew rag idea. It's simple, but adds a little extra touch.

Re: Mascot Question
Any rams mascot has to have the infamous Hubison ankle holster for containment of the world renowned Rams member.

I would most definitely OPT OUT on a do-rag. That is unless you have the need to look like a home-boy. I realize it is "in" with the younger generations but I don't see it as classing up anyone's act.
But then, I tend to be an opinionated, sometimes angry ( I am told), old fart......
