    Well now!

Certainly nice to see some normalcy around here.

Awhile ago, things were starting to get a bit bizarre, with all the burlesque manifestoes floating around.

Sigh, I'll try one more time...

I NEVER SAID FANS CAN'T CRITICIZE!!!

There's a difference between constructively criticizing and joyfully exclaiming "I told you so!" when something goes wrong.

The problem is, for some "fans," the team can't win. If a report comes out saying that Chris Long has not done much in practice, they'll post "he's a bust." If the reports say he's getting to the O line on every play, they'll post "See? Orlando Pace is done!"

That statement is both 100% valid and 100% irrelevant to any argument I've made in this thread.

I'm not stopping them from saying it.

By the same token, nobody will stop me from pointing out how counterproductive and inane those types of statements are.

Re: Maybe I should stop reading message boards for a while

The pot is over flowing here. Football is right around the corner and everyone is anxious for the action to begin. right now were watching teaser trailers that never really show how the movie is going to play out

everyone on here is a ram fan, ill even go as much to say all die hards. We are part of ram nation and we all have our own opinions, whether takin as good or bad, we still love the rams.

Its kinda like America(this is just a metaphor, since i know not everyone is in the U.S. or has the same veiws but just follow me).

Lets say the rams are like america, we all love it. but there are democrats, republicans, independent, green party, etc. we all may belong to diffrent opinion groups and might be left wing or right wing, and we all voice our opinions and belong to groups like SLOP, SLAP, etc, but no matter our opinion, we do it all because we love our Rams.

    Forever blue and gold

    GO RAMS!!

p.s. I ******** cant wait for the season to start!!!!

Amazing the mileage this mantra gets.

Whether it be quarterly, semi-annual or annual the folks really eat it up!

Anyone ever check out the links to similiar threads at the bottom of the page?

Re: Maybe I should stop reading message boards for a while

The thread you attempted to link to was more about opposing fans coming here and posting smack, but the problem I am talking about is hardly a new one.

The rules of decorum prohibit me from naming names, but I really don't have to. I'm sure the vast majority of those reading this thread know exactly what, and exactly who, I am talking about.

Those "fans" who only seem to show up when something goes wrong...

Those "fans" who don't see a half-empty glass because they can't see the glass at all...

Those "fans" who live in the past and do nothing but spew venom on anything that exists in the present...

I know they'll always be here. I just think that, every now and again, someone should take a moment to call those "fans" out for what they really are.

Hard to believe it bothers you so much. It can't be healthy.

Personally, I don't need the extra stress.

Maybe you should take yourself up on the question you ponder or the advice you give to "relax".

It's the NFL for God's sake and the NFL is nothing about the game I grew up loving.

Rather presumptuous of you to assume you know how any of this is impacting me, Dr. Philerter. Rest assured, none of this causes me the least bit of stress. If this board ever became a source of stress for me, rather than a way to escape from those things in my life that are truly stressful, I simply would not come here any more.

Of course, its easier to try to pin a "that's unhealthy" label on me than to actually address any point I've made here. That's okay, I don't want to stress YOU out any more than the league's deterioration has.

Amazing indeed Ferter. Over 500 views and 10%+ posts. We're sensitive fans.

Very good cause-and-effect observation TR. Appropriate too.

AV, hang in there (I realize you don't need me to encourage you on this). I think we all understand your point, even it it's taken with a grain of salt or, 'tongue and cheek'ishly.

Years past I've quoted Hank Hill of King of the Hill saying, "The offseason is tough, I tell you what!"

Assuming that someone hasn't hijacked your screen name, your posts are reason, not presumption.
Rest assured, none of this causes me the least bit of stress.
    Oh, obviously.

The judger of fans has spoken...
By the same token, nobody will stop me from pointing out how counterproductive and inane those types of statements are.
So, do you consider this thread productive and sensible?

Have you considered just addressing the posts that you feel strongly about rather than making sweeping statements and decrees about posters that don't fit your definition of "good fans".
